Final handover of construction site for Cao Lanh route

The Ministry of Transport requested the authorities of Can Tho City to direct relevant units to speed up procedures and soon complete compensation and site clearance work for the construction of the intersection of the Cao Lanh - Lo Te upgrade project in November 2024.

The Ministry of Transport has just sent a telegram to the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City regarding speeding up the progress of compensation, support, and resettlement for the investment project to upgrade the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the investment project to upgrade the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route in Dong Thap province and Can Tho city to reorganize traffic has been approved with a total length of nearly 29km.

Of which, the length passing through Dong Thap province is more than 26km, and through Can Tho city is more than 2.64km.

The area of ​​land acquisition is only about 2.6 hectares to complete the investment in Lo Te intersection, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city. Compensation, support and resettlement work is divided into sub-projects and implemented by Can Tho City People's Committee according to regulations.

"Construction started on April 10, 2024. During the project implementation, leaders of the Ministry of Transport inspected the site, worked with local authorities and issued documents requesting the locality to hand over the site in August 2024 to start construction at Lo Te intersection.

However, according to the report of My Thuan Project Management Board (investor), the implementation of compensation procedures for site clearance is very slow, affecting the progress of construction of weak soil treatment at the branches of the intersection, leading to the need to consider changing the weak soil treatment solution, increasing the cost of new construction investment to meet the required progress", the dispatch stated.

The Ministry of Transport said that the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee continued to orient the main tasks and solutions "Striving to complete the goal of having 3,000km of expressway nationwide by 2025".

On August 18, 2024, the Prime Minister launched a peak competition "500 days and nights of competition to complete 3,000km of expressway". The Cao Lanh - Lo Te project has been identified by the Ministry of Transport in the list of projects scheduled to be completed in 2025.

To ensure the overall progress of the project, the Ministry of Transport and competent authorities of Can Tho City continue to pay attention and direct departments, branches, Vinh Thanh District People's Committee and related agencies and units to focus on resolving difficulties and problems, speeding up procedures, promptly completing compensation and site clearance at Lo Te intersection, handing over the entire site to the construction contractor, no later than November 2024.

"The Ministry of Transport will direct the My Thuan Project Management Board, consultants, and construction contractors to closely coordinate with departments, branches, and local authorities to promptly resolve difficulties and problems in the process of implementing compensation, support, and resettlement," the dispatch stated.
