Bac Lieu plans to spend nearly 700 billion to build the 5th bridge

Bac Lieu province authorities plan to invest nearly 700 billion VND to build Bac Lieu 5 bridge across the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau river.

On December 4, the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Lieu province had a meeting with voters after the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly and before the 21st Session of the 10th Provincial People's Council.

At the meeting, voter Le Ngoc Tuan (residing in Ward 3, Bac Lieu city) shared that people agreed with the rearrangement of the area, including Ward 8 and Ward 3.

However, voter Le Ngoc Tuan also worried about the difficulty of transportation between the areas, separated by the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau River. People have to go around in a very inconvenient way.

"If the province invests in building a bridge across the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau river, it will contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality, while creating conditions for people to travel safely and quickly," voter Tuan proposed.

Regarding the above proposal, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Director of Bac Lieu Department of Transport, said that according to the plan, Bac Lieu province has 5 bridges across the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau river.

"Currently there are three bridges. There are two bridges left, of which Bac Lieu 4 bridge has been put into the Ha Tien - Bac Lieu expressway.

Bac Lieu Bridge 5 is expected to be built at the end of Tran Huynh Street, but the investment capital is very large so the source is not balanced yet," Mr. Dung informed.

According to Mr. Dung, the Department of Transport is actively coordinating with relevant units to establish an investment policy for the construction of Bac Lieu 5 Bridge in the 2025-2030 period, with an estimated investment capital of nearly 700 billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting with voters, Mr. Lu Van Hung, Secretary of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that voters' opinions and recommendations are also issues that the province knows and is very interested in.

However, with projects, especially large projects, the process is quite complicated, along with large capital sources, so the province has to wait for balanced capital from the Central Government, leading to a long completion time, causing difficulties for the people.

The head of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee hopes that voters will understand, share with the government and wait sympathetically.
