Bac Kan opens walking street along Cau River

The Cau River walking street is about 750m long, running along Thanh Nien Street on the south bank of the Cau River (section through Bac Kan city). It has just completed upgrading and renovating the sidewalk system, trees, vegetation and lighting system, decorative lights on a total area of ​​over 34,500m2.

The walking street will combine traditional and modern cultural spaces with many diverse and unique activities such as Then singing, Tinh lute, folk games, art exhibitions, books, street art performances combined with culinary space, handicraft products business, souvenirs... This area also has free wifi for visitors. The walking street will operate every Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm to 11pm.

It is expected that phase 2 of the project will continue to be invested in the coming time with the renovation and upgrading of the entire north bank of the Cau River on the opposite side, with an area of ​​about 24,500m2, creating a closed walking street space along the river. The locality also plans to organize a number of cultural and artistic performances on the river in the coming time.

Tens of thousands of people flocked to the walking street on opening night despite heavy rain.

Even without weekend activities, this walking street is also a unique culinary street, with many restaurants and eateries serving tourists. At the same time, with a system of shady trees, this area is also an ideal place for people to sightsee and stroll.

Mr. Hoang Ha Bac, Chairman of Bac Kan City People's Committee said: "We have made careful preparations to maintain the walking street activities. We are contacting units and localities to organize programs of activities so that the content is always rich and fresh. We are studying some ideas for cultural and artistic business activities on Cau River, and at the same time contacting some localities and tourist destinations to come to the walking street on weekends, with the desire to create a chain link, so that tourists, especially tourists from other provinces, know more about Bac Kan".
