According to AppleInsider , analysts from Apple's supply chain are once again trying to determine the release timeframe of the microLED Apple Watch smartwatch, with the latest predictions suggesting that the wearable will hit the market in 2026.
The prediction of a microLED Apple Watch coming in 2026 was provided by TrendForce Senior Vice President of Research Eric Chiou. During a conference in Japan, he predicted that the future Apple Watch will use a MicroLED display and will be larger (2.12 inches). This screen size makes it more similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.

MicroLED technology is an improvement over OLED, offering greater pixel density on a small screen. MicroLED has other advantages such as brighter and sharper images than OLED.
While both OLED and MicroLED can achieve extremely high local dimming and near-infinite contrast, MicroLED panels will have greater control over what content is displayed. For example, Apple Watch users with MicroLED displays will see sharper text, brighter screens in sunlight, and less burn-in (permanent pixel burn-in) that sometimes occurs with OLED displays.
Previous rumors had indicated that the microLED Apple Watch would be released in 2025, but now a new report suggests that date has been delayed.
