On May 7, 1954, the Dien Bien Phu Campaign won, contributing to the decisive end of the resistance war against the French colonialists. 69 years have passed, the war has receded, the old battlefields today are historical relics, evidences with many stories of a time of fierce bombs and fire: the Campaign Command Headquarters in Muong Phang, A1 Hill, De Castries bunker, Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum...

During these historic May days, many tourists from all over the country and international tourists returned to Dien Bien, where 69 years ago our army and people achieved the Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world". Tourists coming to Dien Bien today can hear historical stories and glorious feats of arms of the heroic days of the past. In particular, on this occasion, visitors to the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum can see with their own eyes the panoramic picture of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Considered by domestic art circles to be one of the world's greatest paintings on the theme of war, the Dien Bien Phu Battle is divided into four sections: The People Go to War, The Majestic Prelude, The Historic Confrontation, and Victory, creating a magnificent, vivid historical picture of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. The panorama painting of more than 3,000 square meters depicting 4,500 characters in the tragic battle of the last 56 days of the Dien Bien Phu battle at the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum by more than 200 artists was awarded first prize at the Vietnam Fine Arts Association Award 2022.
