The family of Mr. Doan Nguyen Hung, born in 1967, residing in Hamlet 3, Tan Xuyen Ward, Ca Mau City, is a near-poor household without land for production. Mr. Hung does many jobs, his wife sells on the street to make a living. The family lives in a dilapidated house on a relative's land, life is very difficult. Since the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was implemented in the city, Mr. Hung's family has been supported to build a new house. The total construction cost of the house is over 83 million VND, of which the Fund for the Poor supported 70 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family.
Representatives of Ca Mau City leaders presented the symbol and decision to support a house for Mr. Doan Nguyen Hung's family.
To create conditions for Mr. Hung's family to soon have a stable place to live, the local government has drastically implemented many solutions. In particular, the role of grassroots party members in supporting and supervising is one of the key steps, aiming to speed up the progress and soon put the house into use. As the person assigned right from the time the house was first deployed, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phuoc, Head of Hamlet 3, Tan Xuyen Ward, always closely followed and monitored the construction process of the house. Not only regularly supervising and urging the construction, Mr. Phuoc also always closely grasped the thoughts and wishes of the family, thereby promptly removing any problems arising during the construction process, in order to soon put the house into use. Mr. Phuoc shared: “As assigned by the Party cell, as both a Party member and a hamlet leader, I always closely followed the process of building a house for Mr. Hung’s family, regularly coming to check the progress, and understanding the family’s thoughts and wishes. As a result, the house was completed on time, creating conditions for Mr. Hung’s family to live in a spacious house, thereby overcoming difficulties to rise out of poverty.”
The assignment of grassroots party members to supervise the house construction process for beneficiary households not only helps to closely manage the implementation process and speed up the progress of the program, but also strengthens the connection between grassroots party members and the people. Mr. Tran Van Hiep, Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet 6, An Xuyen Commune, Ca Mau City, said: "For households with housing difficulties in the area, the Hamlet Party Cell has held meetings and assigned specific and clear tasks to each party member to monitor, urge, and help the family until the house is completed."
Assigning grassroots party members to monitor and supervise the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses not only ensures transparency in identifying families in need of support, avoiding omissions, omissions, and wrong beneficiaries, but is also an important link in monitoring the quality of construction works, ensuring that completed houses are solid and safe.
The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is being accelerated in many localities in Ca Mau province.
It is known that the total number of houses in the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province is 4,400, with construction resources of over 235 billion VND. Accordingly, in order for the program to be truly effective and on schedule as set by the province, the participation of the entire political system, in which the exemplary role of grassroots party members in monitoring and supporting is extremely important. In addition to community supervision to ensure fairness and prevent negative processes in implementation, grassroots party members are the pioneers in contributing finance and labor, as well as in mobilizing relatives to participate in support. It can be said that grassroots party members are an important bridge between the government and the people in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, contributing to bringing this program of the province to the finish line early according to the set goals./.
