The expressway is gradually being completed, opening up great potential and advantages for the socio-economic development of Thoi Binh district.

With the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, in recent times, the investment in new construction, upgrading and repairing of important traffic works with connectivity and linkage has created development space, promoting the socio-economic development of the district.

In addition to the State's investment capital, the district has mobilized non-State budget resources to invest in developing transport infrastructure in the direction of synchronous construction, serving trade and socio-economic development of the locality. Since then, the transport infrastructure in the district has basically served well the travel and freight transport needs of the people, contributing to improving per capita income and improving people's lives.

Currently, the roads in the district are solidly built, regularly maintained and repaired, with a total length of more than 1,379.8 km. Of which, the central level manages 3 routes, 96 km long; the provincial level manages 4 routes, 36.8 km long; the district road has 19 routes, 157 km long; the commune road has 465 routes, 1,090 km long. The road system ensures cars reach community-based eco-tourism and spiritual tourism destinations in the district.

According to the assessment of Thoi Binh District Party Committee, the traffic infrastructure in the district basically serves well the travel needs, improving people's lives.

Mr. Huynh Hanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thoi Binh District Party Committee, said: "In recent times, the traffic system in the district has been regularly reviewed and adjusted based on the needs and orientations for developing rural traffic infrastructure, linking the construction of communes that meet new rural standards and advanced new rural standards, in order to maximize support from the central budget, provincial budget and mobilize all resources to invest in road traffic infrastructure in the district."

Specifically, from 2021 to December 2024, 142 projects have been invested in upgrading, expanding, and constructing new roads, with a total allocated capital of VND 441,728 billion. Of which, investments will be made in new construction, upgrading, expanding, maintaining, and regularly maintaining a number of routes with high transportation demand, contributing to promoting economic development in the district. In addition, people have donated land, relocated structures, crops, drainage systems, etc. to build rural traffic works.

According to Mr. Huynh Hanh, infrastructure development is one of the important tasks, which has been oriented and specified in Resolution No. 03-NQ/HU, dated December 16, 2020 of the District Party Committee on developing transportation services, tourism, construction and development of industrial clusters - small-scale industry in the district in the period of 2021-2025 and the following years. Developing transport infrastructure is a springboard to promote and effectively promote local potentials and strengths, including developing industrial clusters - small-scale industry and tourism.

Thoi Binh District Party Committee also acknowledged that the planning of industrial and handicraft clusters in Ho Thi Ky, Thoi Binh and Tri Phai communes has been integrated into the planning of Ca Mau province. Currently, the district has no industrial clusters and has not invested in infrastructure systems, nor has there been any investors. However, with the current potential and advantages in transportation of the district, this is a favorable condition to attract investment resources in industrial cluster infrastructure. Therefore, it is necessary to review, update and adjust the planning to ensure it is suitable to the actual situation of the locality, creating conditions to promote and attract investment to develop trade, services and tourism.

Along with the general socio-economic development trend of the province and the whole country, Thoi Binh has planned many comprehensive development programs and goals. That is to focus on effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the district and mobilizing maximum resources for sustainable socio-economic development, associated with ensuring national defense - security, social order and safety; ensuring social security, fairness and progress, improving people's lives in all aspects.

In particular, taking advantage of, exploiting and promoting the district's potential and advantages to develop transportation, tourism, industry and handicrafts is considered the top priority for socio-economic development; especially the expressway that is gradually being completed, will open up great potential and advantages for the local socio-economic development. Regarding this issue, Thoi Binh district will continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of State management in investment, construction and exploitation of traffic infrastructure works to ensure technical standards during the exploitation process, with coordination between levels and sectors in the construction of traffic infrastructure, ensuring synchronization, feasibility, efficiency, avoiding waste of resources; performing well the work of regular maintenance and repair of invested infrastructure works, ensuring long-term exploitation efficiency and longevity of investment works.

Along with that, mobilizing resources from the central budget to support the goal of investing in the construction and expansion of district roads to meet the planned standards; effectively using the provincial budget to invest in the construction and expansion of connecting roads, which is meaningful in promoting socio-economic development and creating favorable conditions to attract investment; continuing to review, arrange, and call for investment in a number of necessary and urgent traffic infrastructure connection projects, dredging inland waterways...
