After investing capital and building barns, Ms. Dong bought 15 hybrid wild boars to raise. She took advantage of many available food sources such as vegetables, tubers, banana trees... grown by her family and given by neighbors, thus saving a part of the food cost.
For hybrid wild boars, when they give birth, they will take care of themselves, and the newborn piglets will suckle themselves without much support from the breeder. During the entire breeding process, Ms. Dong applied a scientific breeding process, ensuring environmental hygiene, and proactively preventing diseases, so the pigs were healthy, grew quickly, and reproduced quickly. After more than 6 months of breeding, the hybrid wild boars reproduced, and currently the total herd in the barn is 50 pigs. On average, each batch of pigs raised for meat will reach a weight of about 20-25 kg/pig after about 4 and a half months, at which time they will be sold, with an average selling price of 90,000 VND/kg.

Ms. Dong said: "With this model, farmers only pay for the initial costs of barns and breeding pigs. The company will closely follow the technical process instructions during the raising process, provide support when there are risks, and guarantee the output of pigs for meat, so families can feel secure in their development."
The hybrid wild boar farming model of Ms. Dong's family opens up a new direction of development in the transformation of livestock structure, especially for female members who want to start a business in their hometown.
Up to now, the Women's Union of Phu Tan commune has deployed this farming model to 100% of the women's associations in the hamlets in the area and many women are interested in learning about the experience and farming process to apply to their families. Accordingly, during the farming process, Ms. Dong is willing to share her experience to build an effective development model, contributing to increasing income.
Ms. Dong shared: “If you want to raise pigs, you don’t need to invest much at first, just about 3 piglets is enough. Selling 2 batches of pigs for meat each year will bring in profit, which will help you cover your family’s expenses.”./.
