(To Quoc) - With a series of exciting activities taking place continuously for many days, Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 has left impressions in the hearts of locals and tourists.
The Hue Community Ao Dai Festival was initiated by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province in 2020 and has been maintained over the years; especially since the "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai" Project was officially approved by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province in Decision No. 678/QD-UBND dated March 29, 2023, affirming the correctness in the revival of traditional Ao Dai - "National Costume" of Vietnam.
This year, the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 continues to take place with many continuous activities, lasting from June 24-30. At the launching ceremony, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province, said that the activities not only help people and tourists access and understand more about Ao Dai, thereby cherishing and cherishing the traditional Ao Dai - "National Costume" in particular, but also contribute to educating love for the traditional cultural values of the nation; at the same time, contributing to promoting culture, attracting tourism, and developing the socio-economy of the locality and the country.
Within the framework of the launching ceremony, at 15 Le Loi (Hue City), the "Ao Dai Tailoring Experimental Space" was opened to serve the people and tourists to visit and learn. Here, visitors can order their favorite Ao Dai from famous tailors and designers in Thua Thien Hue province.
In parallel, the art exhibition "The beauty of Hue Ao Dai" was also held at the same location.
On this occasion, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province organized a pilgrimage to Truong Thai tomb to pay tribute to ancestors on the anniversary of the death of Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat, who established the Vietnamese ao dai.
At Truong Thai mausoleum (La Khe village, Huong Tho, Hue city), the delegation offered incense according to traditional rituals.
Next, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center organized a procession to offer incense in gratitude at Trieu To Temple and The To Temple.
Delegations came to offer flowers and incense to express gratitude to the ancestors who enlightened and developed the ao dai, which today has become the traditional costume of Vietnam.
Within the framework of the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024, a discussion and book introduction "Traditional Ao Dai - The Journey of Return" was also held. The book was produced by the Vietnamese Village Communal House Club (Hanoi) and published by The Gioi Publishing House with 52 articles by 47 authors from across the country. The book's content includes: Part I: In search of the value of the five-panel Ao Dai; Part II: Returning to the tradition of our ancestors and Appendix.
The art program “Ao Dai Hanoi - Hue - Saigon” combines typical art performances of the three regions with shows showcasing traditional Ao Dai collections and ancient costumes made by designers from Hue, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, held at the Nghinh Luong Dinh relic stage.
The photo exhibition "Contemporary Ao Dai - Convergence of Three Regions" at Kim Long communal house (Kim Long ward, Hue city) displays and introduces to the public more than 30 photographic works by 15 authors about images of Ao Dai collections by designers from three regions of Vietnam.
The program "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Korean Hanbok" - a special reunion between Vietnamese Ao Dai and Korean Hanbok right in Hue made many viewers excited to admire the quintessence of costumes of the two countries.
According to the Organizing Committee, through this program, we hope to introduce the beauty of traditional costumes of each country and promote further cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea - two countries that have many similarities in culture and history.
The parade activities "Ao Dai on the Country Road", "Folk Dance and Ao Dai" and the art program "Ao Dai in the Country Market" at Thanh Toan Tile Bridge Community Tourism Site (Huong Thuy Town) also attracted the attention of many people and tourists.
The Ao Dai show "Hue's craft heritage ties the knot with Ao Dai" introduces to the public collections inspired by the culture of Hue's craft villages such as: Pho Trach Bang cushions, A Luoi weaving, Tay Ho conical hats, Hue kites...
The design and performance contest "Ao Dai and 12 Zodiac stamps" was held at the Crescent Bridge, on one side of the poetic Huong River.
In response to the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue organized the activity "Ao Dai with cycling for the environment" attracting nearly 200 participants. The event was a vibrant activity, attracting the attention of many people and tourists, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai", "Hue - ASEAN Clean Tourism City", towards building "Hue - Bicycle City"; at the same time, raising public awareness of environmental protection.
On this occasion, in Thua Thien Hue province, competitions, festivals, research and launching of Ao Dai wearing were also held at many agencies, units, schools, Dong Ba market, etc. Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province, said that the activities of the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 have been effective when targeting the main beneficiaries, the community in general. The week with a series of exciting activities has left impressions in the hearts of people and tourists.
