
The 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition Hoi An 2025 is organized by Hoi An City in collaboration with the Interkultur Association (Germany). This year, the event took place from April 9 to 12, attracting 29 choirs with more than 1,200 artists from 9 countries including Canada, Poland, Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam... The groups competed in 11 competitions in 7 categories with performances that both ensured the techniques and strict requirements of the choir, and expressed the unique identity of each country that is the home of the choir.

In particular, within the framework of the competition, in addition to the main competitions at Hoi An Theater, there are also many sideline activities to serve the people and tourists such as street choir exchanges; performing the art program "Hoai Giang Night"; recreating Hoi An Ancient Town Night in the early 20th century...
Mr. Johan Rooze - Artistic Director of Interkultur shared that he was extremely happy to see so many choral music lovers gather in Hoi An to sing, dance, learn and exchange together to "sing together to bring countries closer together".

“Hoi An is an ancient and charming city, an ideal place for you to shine on stage, exchange, learn from each other and enjoy the past days” - Johan Rooze said.
According to Ms. Yousang Jang, a member of the G Harmony CEO Choir (Korea), she was truly surprised by the beauty and friendliness of the people of Hoi An. At the same time, she expressed her wish to have the opportunity to return to visit the city.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be here, to perform and to meet wonderful colleagues and friends. The four days here will be memorable moments. I hope to come back here soon with my family for an exciting trip,” said Ms. Yousang Jang.

First held in 2011, the Vietnam International Choir Competition is organized by Hoi An City in collaboration with the Interkultur Association (Germany) every two years. After each organization, most of them leave a deep impression on the friends and members of the participating choir.
Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee affirmed that, through 8 times of organization, the event has demonstrated its unique value to become a special cultural and artistic activity, achieving many great successes and leaving many impressions, contributing to introducing and promoting the friendly, hospitable and peaceful image of Hoi An people as well as the beloved country and people of Vietnam.

At the end of the competition, the organizing committee awarded the winning prize to the CEAO Senior Choir (Canada) led by Conductor Maxime Bégin, along with prizes for each category to the participating groups.
