On the afternoon of June 5, answering VTC News, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, 9 candidates had to ask for help from exam invigilators, including 8 candidates with broken arms and 1 deaf candidate wearing a hearing aid.
Candidates needing special support are from testing locations in Hoc Mon district, districts 3, 10, 12, Go Vap, Thu Duc city, Cu Chi district, and Binh Chanh district.
"According to the exam regulations, all candidates with broken arms will be tested in a separate room, with an invigilator writing the exam for them. All separate exam rooms are equipped with audio and video recording cameras for monitoring," said Mr. Minh.

Mr. Pham Duc Lap, Deputy Head of the exam site at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, said that at this exam site, Nguyen Van Thanh, a student at Le Loi Secondary School, District 3, broke his right arm.
According to Mr. Lap, the testing site has more than 100 officers, teachers, staff, and police from District 3 on duty.
"This afternoon, the testing site will receive specialized support equipment to serve candidates taking the test tomorrow from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training ," said Mr. Lap.

On the morning of June 5, about 96,000 ninth graders in Ho Chi Minh City went to the testing site to complete procedures to prepare for the 2023 public grade 10 entrance exam. The official exam date will be June 6 and 7.
According to a quick report, the entire city had 461 absent candidates. These candidates can still take the 10th grade entrance exam as usual, without being affected by not attending the exam regulations meeting.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City has 158 exam sites, including 147 regular exam sites and 11 specialized exam sites.
Each room has 24 candidates, each testing site will have 3 additional spare testing rooms.
Ho Chi Minh City has mobilized 12,306 teachers to work as exam invigilators and 2,370 employees, security guards, police officers, etc. to work at exam sites.
The total number of 9th graders taking the junior high school graduation exam this year is 113,802, of which 96,325 candidates registered for the public 10th grade exam. Of these, 88,237 candidates registered for only 3 regular options; 1,147 candidates registered for integrated options; and 6,941 candidates registered for specialized options (236 candidates from other provinces registered to take the exam in Ho Chi Minh City).
