Meanwhile, the number of people receiving medical examination and emergency treatment for suspected traffic-related accidents was 3,727, bringing the total number of people receiving medical examination and emergency treatment for suspected traffic-related accidents during the 8-day Tet holiday to 24,054.
The number of patients suspected of being involved in traffic accidents who had to be hospitalized for inpatient treatment or monitoring in the past 24 hours was 1,473 people, bringing the total number of cases that had to be hospitalized for monitoring or inpatient treatment during the 8-day Tet holiday to 9,755 people.
According to the Ministry of Health, in the past 24 hours, there were 20 suspected deaths due to traffic accidents, of which 7 died before reaching a medical facility, 4 died at a medical facility, and 9 were expected to die.
During the 8 days of Tet, the total number of suspected deaths due to traffic accidents was 159, of which 66 people died before reaching a medical facility, 38 people died at a medical facility, and 55 people were expected to die.
The number of people suffering from digestive disorders, food poisoning from homemade food, and alcohol and beer intoxication who came to the emergency room was 125, of which 73 people had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment.
During the 8-day Tet holiday, 709 people were examined and treated in emergency rooms due to digestive disorders, poisoning from homemade food, and alcohol intoxication, of which 442 people had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment, with no deaths recorded.
There are currently 127,395 people being treated at medical facilities. The total number of inpatients in the past 8 days is 194,457. There were 16,508 babies born during the 8-day Tet holiday.
Fireworks accidents occur continuously, especially during the Lunar New Year, leaving serious consequences such as amputation, blindness... Doctors advise people, especially teenagers, not to buy, sell, use or make their own firecrackers to protect their own health and that of those around them.
