On the evening of March 13, Dr. Le Van Khoa, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Health, said that according to a quick report from Nha Trang City Medical Center, by this evening, the total number of suspected food poisoning cases treated at hospitals after eating chicken rice at Tram Anh chicken rice restaurant, No. 10 Ba Trieu, Nha Trang City was 60 people.
Of these, 20 people had mild symptoms and were discharged from the hospital the same day after first aid; the remaining 40 people are still being monitored and are currently in stable health.
Patients are being treated at a hospital in Khanh Hoa.
Previously, at 8:30 p.m. on March 12, Nha Trang City Medical Center received a report of a number of cases hospitalized with suspected food poisoning symptoms due to eating chicken rice. Immediately after that, Nha Trang Health Department, Nha Trang City Medical Center mobilized all personnel to investigate at the hospitals where the patients were hospitalized (Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital, Saigon - Nha Trang General Hospital, Tam Tri Nha Trang General Hospital, Yersin Nha Trang General Hospital).
As a result, all patients were hospitalized with initial symptoms: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loose stools, fever, fatigue. The cause of poisoning is still undetermined.
Currently, Nha Trang City authorities have taken samples of specimens and food to determine the cause of food poisoning. At the same time, they continue to monitor the patient's condition at medical facilities in the city.
Mr. Manh Cuong (Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa) whose son was poisoned and is being treated at Saigon - Nha Trang General Hospital said that on March 11, he stopped by a chicken rice restaurant on Ba Trieu Street to buy chicken rice for his son. In the evening, the child showed symptoms of vomiting, fever, and red eyes, so the next morning he took his son to Saigon - Nha Trang General Hospital for treatment. When he arrived at the hospital, he saw many people being treated with similar symptoms.

Previously, on the morning of March 13, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health issued a document directing medical examination and treatment facilities in the province to be ready to receive and admit patients, and not to delay emergency treatment for patients. At the same time, mobilize all available resources of the unit in terms of human resources, medicine, and equipment to focus on emergency treatment and care for the above-mentioned food poisoning patients.
In particular, it is required that patients with severe poisoning symptoms, children and the elderly are given priority to be transferred to higher-level hospitals. Medical facilities promptly consult with the provincial general hospital on professional matters when there are cases with unusual, complicated or worse developments, difficult to predict, to avoid cases where the disease progresses severely, beyond the treatment capacity of the unit. When receiving patients, it is necessary to take samples for testing, store specimens; coordinate in providing specimens and test results.
