“I love my grandmother more, even though the military service period is 18 months. All three of us promise to train hard, strictly follow the army's orders and regulations, and the unit's regulations, and not violate military discipline, even in the smallest way,” new recruit Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhan confided.
Hien Nhan said, now I love my grandmother more.
We visited the families of three new recruits Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhan, Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhon, and Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Phuc in the afternoon, after spending many solemn and emotional moments with them at the meeting, encouraging and giving gifts to the families and young volunteers of Tam Thuan ward (Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city).

Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhan and Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhon are twin brothers, born on June 6, 2004, and their younger brother Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Phuc, born on January 10, 2006. Nhan and Nhon are 20 years old, Phuc just turned 18.
Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhon is currently a 2nd year student majoring in Information Technology at Da Nang College of Economics and Planning, Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Nhan is studying Logistics at Da Nang College of Commerce and Nguyen Khac Tu Hien Phuc is studying a vocational course at the Central V.
Among the three brothers, Hien Nhan is the oldest. Sharing his feelings when he was recruited for military service, Nhan said that all three brothers really like the military environment and want to be trained and mature in the army, to bring their passion and youthful aspirations to protect their homeland. The intention to join the army has been discussed by the three brothers for more than 2 years, but we agreed to wait until Phuc graduates from high school, then we will write a volunteer application to join the army.
Due to difficult family circumstances, the efforts to strive and study of the three brothers Nhan, Nhon, and Phuc will have to be temporarily put on hold.
“As soon as I submitted my application for military service, although I asked about the procedures to reserve my academic results, due to the school's regulations that I must pay all tuition fees for this first semester to be able to reserve my results, and my family's circumstances are too difficult, so I don't have money to pay tuition fees. My academic results will not be reserved,” Hien Nhan shared.
The small house where the three brothers Nhan, Nhon, and Phuc live with their grandmother is located deep in an alley on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, in Group 42, Tam Thuan Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City.

“Thinking about my grandmother’s old age, the three of us discussed and decided to let me go alone, but then both my younger brothers Nhon and Phuc decided to join the army. I am very happy and proud because all three of us met the military standards as prescribed. Now I love and care for my grandmother more, because she is old,” Nhan confided.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thi, 80 years old, grandmother of the three new recruits Nhan, Nhon, Phuc, is still emotional when in the past few days, her small house was filled with the laughter of relatives, neighbors, local leaders... visiting and congratulating her grandchildren on their departure to perform their military service.
Living with her since she was a baby, growing up, going to school until grade 12, college… and now, all 3 grandchildren are doing military service. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thi, always holds her grandchildren’s hands tightly and pats their heads like when they were children.

She tearfully said: "My three grandchildren are my greatest assets in this house. Their parents are all workers, and due to difficult family circumstances, they have to rent a room outside to live. All the grandchildren rely on their grandmother to take care of them."
When Nhan told her that the three of them had volunteered to go through the military service examination, she was very worried. But when all three of them met the military service examination criteria, she calmed down and encouraged them to train hard, strive, and be worthy of being good children.
In addition to her three grandchildren, this time her grandson, Tran Van Anh Hung, also passed the exam. So the family has four grandchildren joining the military.
"Seeing the children's spirit of dedication to the Fatherland, I am very happy and proud. I hope the four children will work together to study and practice well," Ms. Thi said emotionally.
Mr. Ho Duc Tien, Commander of the Tam Thuan Ward Military Command, said that in addition to the three brothers Nhan, Nhon, and Phuc, there were 22 other young men who volunteered to join the army, including one party member and one student at Da Nang University of Education.
Notably, in this recruitment campaign, three brothers, Nhan, Nhon, and Phuc, volunteered to perform military service. This is the first time the locality has recorded such a case.
After learning about the wishes of the children and their families, to encourage and create favorable conditions for them, the Ward Military Command discussed and agreed with superiors to support 3 children to join the same unit of the 372nd Air Division so that they can help each other train, study and develop in the military environment.
Sharing about the military recruitment work at the beginning of the year and the special cases of the ward in the 2024 military recruitment, comrade Ho Dam Nhu Nga, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Thuan Ward, Chairman of the Ward Military Service Council, said that, following the tradition of the locality, absorbing the positive spirit of the youth, in 2023, Tam Thuan Ward had a case of a female friend volunteering to join the army.

In 2024, the military recruitment work of the ward's Military Service Council, under the close leadership and direction of the Party Committee, organized many propaganda contents related to the Law on Military Service to encourage the enthusiasm of the youth of the whole ward. In particular, there were 3 cases of the ward, namely Nhan, Nhon, and Phuc, who volunteered to write applications for military service.
Despite their difficult circumstances, the three children are very independent, have a high spirit of youthful enthusiasm and are all qualified young men. During this military service, the three children will be accepted by a unit of the 372nd Air Division.
We are very happy and proud that the locality has children and younger brothers of the current young generation like Nhan, Nhon, Phuc. They have demonstrated the spirit of dedication of youth, not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships. These are truly precious examples of youth, need to be replicated and spread this spirit of volunteering to join the army to young people of the same age. They will excellently complete the assigned tasks, become Uncle Ho's soldiers, confident and brave People's Police soldiers.
