2NE1 danced to "See Love", exploded with 8,000 fans at a music night in HCMC

(Dan Tri) - For 2 hours, 2NE1 stirred up the atmosphere with vibrant performances, reminding thousands of Vietnamese fans of their youth.

On the evening of February 15, the first of 2NE1's Welcome back concerts in Ho Chi Minh City took place in District 7. The program attracted about 8,000 spectators, including many Vietnamese stars such as Thuy Tien, Duc Phuc, Lyly, MisThy... who also enthusiastically attended.

This is the third time 2NE1 has performed in Vietnam and the first time the group has returned after 11 years since their 2014 concert in Ho Chi Minh City. The Welcome Back tour went through many Asian countries, marking the group's reunion after 8 years and also marking the 15th anniversary of their founding.

At exactly 7:10 p.m., 2NE1 appeared amid the excitement of a large number of fans. The group opened the concert with the song Fire - a debut song that caused a fever in 2009. This is also one of the songs that made 2NE1 famous throughout Asia.

For 2 hours, 2NE1 made Vietnamese fans restless with hits like: I'm the best, Go away, Comeback home... In some songs like Clap your hand, I don't care, Ugly... , 2NE1 and fans performed choreography and clapped their hands to the beat of the melody.

Although they have passed the peak of their career, 2NE1 is still praised for their ability to control the stage. Leader CL and youngest member Minzy continuously heat up the audience with fiery rap and dance performances.

Not only did 2NE1 have exciting performances, their concert also brought the audience moments of peace. Ballads like Lonely, Missing you, It hurts, If I were you... helped the Korean group show off their emotional live vocals.

The organizers also showed videos of 2NE1's trainee days or memorable moments in their career journey, making many fans cry.

The cheers, the raised arms, and the fans' harmonies expressed their explosive emotions when meeting 2NE1 again after 11 years.

Many viewers commented that the stadium was like a "fire pan" with loud fan chants (fans singing along). During the performance Missing You , 8,000 fans also turned on their phone flashlights, creating an emotional and surprising scene for 2NE1.

At the age of 41, main vocalist Park Bom no longer maintains her beauty and health as before. She was absent from some performances such as: Comeback home, Go away... to rest backstage.

However, Park Bom still scored points with her characteristic emotional voice and enthusiastic interactions with the audience. During the performance You and I , the female singer walked straight down to the stage, freely touching hands and taking pictures with fans.

Between performances, 2NE1 interacted with fans in English. The group expressed their happiness at meeting Vietnamese fans again, enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City and thanked the audience for their support.

Member Dara said "I love you" in Vietnamese, said she enjoyed pho, banh mi and received conical hats and gifts sent by Vietnamese fans.

2NE1 also showed their special affection for Vietnam when they had unexpected performances that were not in the script, such as Dara's solo stage Kiss or the See Tinh dance. While Dara and Minzy know the famous See Tinh dance relatively well, group leader CL said she will practice to perform on the second concert night.

According to Dan Tri reporters, the concert received positive feedback on its neat organization, sound and lighting meeting international standards. Security was tightened with many regulations such as not being allowed to bring professional filming equipment, selfie sticks, flammable materials, etc.

Before that, from 3pm, thousands of fans flocked to the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center to exchange bracelets, take check-in photos and participate in exchange activities. Many fans wore unique costumes and hairstyles to cheer on their idols. Some older audiences also brought their children to the 2NE1 concert to reminisce about their youth.

With ticket prices ranging from VND2.2 million to VND6.5 million, all seats at the concert were filled. Audiences commented that this price was relatively reasonable and not much different from other stops on the Asian tour.

However, some viewers also gave the show's organizers feedback on the seating arrangements. Fans said that the production team should raise the floor for the Premium 3 ticket area because the ticket price is more expensive but the view is not as good as the back areas (with higher seats) such as Premium 4 and Premium 5.

The second night of 2NE1's concert series in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on the evening of February 16.

2NE1 was formed in 2009 under YG Entertainment, consisting of 4 members: CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park and Minzy.

The group is one of the Kpop icons thanks to their unique, bold fashion style and groundbreaking music. From their debut song Fire to hits like: I don't care , Can't nobody , Go away , Lonely , I'm the best , Ugly , Missing you, Come back home... , 2NE1 not only dominated the domestic charts but also became famous internationally, leaving a strong mark in the Korean music industry.

After Park Bom was involved in a drug scandal in 2014, 2NE1 stopped working. In November 2016, YG Entertainment announced the group's disbandment. The group will resume activities in July 2024, on the occasion of their 15th debut anniversary.
