On the afternoon of May 9, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong chaired a meeting with the delegation of officials and students participating in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2024.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a decision to establish a delegation of Vietnamese officials and students to participate in the 2024 International Science and Technology Competition from May 11 to 17 in the United States. Accordingly, the delegation includes 17 students with 9 participating projects.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong congratulated 17 students with 9 outstanding projects, selected from 149 projects to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2023-2024 school year to compete internationally.
ISEF is the largest annual international science and engineering competition for high school students, held since 1950. Each year, more than 1,500 high school students from over 70 countries and regions participate. The competition is an opportunity to connect young future scientists around the world; an opportunity for students to meet great scientists, Nobel Prize winners are invited to serve as judges. Many large businesses also come to the competition to seek innovative ideas.
Vietnam first participated in the competition in 2012. Since then, Vietnam has continuously sent students to attend ISEF and every year is one of the countries with students winning prizes.
