Watch clip:

The clip is over 1 minute long, recording the image of 13 children, students of Asia Kindergarten (Trang Dai Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province) standing and sitting properly, very focused to read a fairly long poem.

This poem is called "I love the North so much". The lyrics are as follows:

Never heard the sound of rain falling

But blame God so much

Water rises with countless pains

The storm has passed but there is no peace

Never heard the sound of rain outside the porch

But blame mother nature so much

Four surrounding high water surrounded

How many people struggle in pain

Sun please come out

Let the rain stop, let every home be at peace

To ease the pain and misery

For peace to all people everywhere

Speaking to VietNamNet reporter, Ms. Truong Thi Thuy - teacher at Asia Kindergarten - said that a colleague shared this poem with her. At the same time, the more she followed the news and images of floods in the North, the stronger her love for her homeland became.

"In recent days, the whole country has turned its attention to the North, which has been severely affected by storms and floods. Images of flooded houses, people having to evacuate, children not being able to go to school... have made us feel heartbroken.

"Our teachers told the students about the difficulties their peers in the North are going through. Even though they are young, they somehow feel what we want to convey," said Ms. Thuy.

"The poem 'I love the North so much' moved us. By teaching students this poem, teachers not only practice their language skills but also nurture love in them."

Sharing more, Ms. Thuy said that the poem above has some words that are quite difficult to remember for young children, but the children tried very hard. After 1 week of practicing, most of the children had memorized the whole poem.

“Today, I let the children wear red flag shirts with yellow stars and read the poem together to record.

Our school does not encourage students and parents to donate money or goods, but dedicates this clip as a word of encouragement from the children to the people affected by the storm and flood, hoping that everyone will soon return to a peaceful life" - Ms. Thuy expressed.
