10 regional social insurances operating from April 1

This is a major reform step to improve management efficiency, streamline the apparatus and improve the quality of service to the people.

Accordingly, implementing Decision No. 391/QD-BTC dated February 26, 2025 of the Minister of Finance, Vietnam Social Security has proactively and immediately deployed the arrangement of the entire system's organizational structure into three levels: Central, regional and district.

Specifically: Regional social insurance is organized into 35 regions nationwide, with legal status, its own seal and account. District-level social insurance is organized into 350 units nationwide, continuing to perform tasks locally.

According to the plan, the first 10 regional social insurances will be operational from today (April 1, 2025), including:

Social Insurance Region I (Hanoi)

Social Insurance Region IV (Binh Duong)

Social Insurance Region VI (Thanh Hoa)

Social Insurance Region VII (Nghe An)

Social Insurance Area X (Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan)

Social Insurance Region XI (Bac Giang - Bac Ninh)

Social Insurance Region XVII (Yen Bai - Lao Cai)

Social Insurance Region XIX (Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang)

Social Insurance Region XXII (Da Nang - Quang Nam)

Social Insurance Region XXXII (Ca Mau - Bac Lieu)

Next, from June 1, 2025, 25 other regional social insurances will come into operation under the new structure.

With major changes from April 1, 2025, people and businesses need to proactively update information to adapt to the new model, while taking advantage of the benefits that the regional insurance system brings.

Vietnam Social Security also requires units to seriously implement to ensure efficiency and uninterrupted operations when switching to the new model.

The restructuring of the social insurance system aims to: Streamline the administrative apparatus, reduce operating costs, strengthen management, effectively monitor the implementation of insurance policies, and ensure better benefits for insurance participants.
