Robusta Coffee Price London April 11, 2025

On the London floor, at 4:30 a.m. on April 11, 2025, at the end of the trading session, Robusta coffee prices tended to increase again after the previous sharp declines, increasing from 64 - 113 USD/ton compared to yesterday, fluctuating from 4,749 - 5,170 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery price for May 2025 is 4,937 USD/ton; the delivery price for July 2025 is 4,896 USD/ton; the delivery price for September 2025 is 4,833 USD/ton and the delivery price for November 2025 is 4,767 USD/ton.

Arabica coffee price on New York floor on April 11, 2025

Similarly, the price of Arabica coffee on the New York floor in the early morning of April 11 continued to increase slightly, increasing from 0.60 - 1.15 cents/lb compared to the previous trading session, fluctuating from 332.20 - 361.50 cents/lb. Specifically, the delivery period in May 2025 is 342.85 cents/lb; the delivery period in July 2025 is 341.60 cents/lb; the delivery period in September 2025 is 337.45 cents/lb and the delivery period in December 2025 is 332.65 cents/lb.

At the end of the trading session, the price of Brazilian Arabica coffee decreased slightly compared to yesterday, a decrease of 1.05 - 9.85 USD/ton, fluctuating between 410.95 - 482.70 USD/ton. Recorded as follows: May 2025 delivery period is 464.40 USD/ton; July 2025 delivery period is 426.05 USD/ton; September 2025 delivery period is 417.00 and December 2025 delivery period is 407.10 USD/ton.

Robusta coffee traded on the ICE Futures Europe (London exchange) opens at 16:00 and closes at 00:30 (next day) Vietnam time. Arabica coffee traded on the ICE Futures US (New York exchange) opens at 16:15 and closes at 01:30 (next day) Vietnam time. For Arabica coffee traded on the B3 Brazil exchange, it will open from 19:00 - 02:35 (next day) Vietnam time.

Domestic coffee prices - regaining momentum

According to information from Giacaphe.com, updated at 4:30 a.m. today, April 11, 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces suddenly rebounded after many previous sessions of decline, an increase of 1,000 - 1,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Currently, the average purchase price is at 119,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, today's coffee price in Dak Lak is 119,000 VND/kg, coffee price in Lam Dong is 117,300 VND/kg, coffee price in Gia Lai is 119,000 VND/kg and coffee price in Dak Nong today is 119,000 VND/kg.

The domestic coffee prices that Giacaphe.com lists every day are calculated based on the prices of two world coffee exchanges combined with continuous surveys from businesses and purchasing agents in key coffee growing areas across the country.

According to experts, world coffee prices are under pressure from many factors, including the global trade situation and changes in US tariff policies. If the US imposes high tariffs on imported goods from Vietnam, this will greatly affect the competitiveness of Vietnamese coffee in the international market.

According to Reuters, an international coffee trading company shared that U.S. roasters – who import coffee from Vietnam, Indonesia and Nicaragua – need to consider the possibility of renegotiating with customers to find alternative sources of supply. Currently, Vietnam is taxed at 46%, Indonesia at 32% and Nicaragua at 18%, while Brazil and Colombia are only taxed at 10%.

A report from Escritório Carvalhaes, a Brazilian coffee exporter, also noted that the coffee market is entering a period of uncertainty, affected by sweeping changes in global trade rules. The specific impacts are still unknown, and the market is still waiting for further developments from the Trump administration to determine the next trend.

Coffee is a commodity that the United States is completely dependent on for foreign supply, so imposing tariffs on coffee does not encourage domestic production or correct unfair trade practices as it does with some other commodities.

According to information from the Vietnam Customs Department, Vietnam's coffee exports in the first quarter of 2025 reached 495,780 tons, worth more than 2.8 billion USD, down 15.3% in volume but up 45.8% in value compared to the same period last year. This shows that although export volume decreased, export value increased due to higher world coffee prices.
