According to Engadget , among the cameras on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the most notable is the 23mm main camera with a 1-inch 50 MP Sony IMX989 sensor that supports OIS, and a variable aperture to switch between f/1.9 and f/4.0 for different photography purposes.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup and Leica lenses at the back

The other three cameras include an ultra-wide camera (12mm, f/1.8, 122-degree field of view), a 5x periscope zoom (120mm, f/3.0, OIS), and a new 3.2x zoom (75mm, f/1.8, OIS) for sharp portraits with more background blur. All use the new 1/2.51-inch 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor, which is claimed to offer class-leading noise reduction, all-pixel autofocus, and DOL-HDR performance. This should ensure more consistent image quality across all four cameras - which has been a major challenge for smartphone makers in the past. On the front, there's a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera.

Like today's flagship phones, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, combined with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The device also supports USB 3.2 with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps and DisplayPort video output up to 4K 60Hz. The 5,000mAh battery supports 90W fast charging, allowing it to charge from 0 to 100% in 35 minutes. In particular, if the phone has only 1% battery capacity left and switches to Hibernation mode, it can operate for 60 minutes in standby mode or 12 minutes for calls thanks to Xiaomi's special chips, Surge P2 and G1.

The camera setup is promised to be unrivaled at the moment.

While the AMOLED display is still the same 6.73-inch size and 3,200 x 1,440 resolution as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, this time it’s a new LTPO panel supplied by CSOT (a subsidiary of TCL). This is said to benefit from the new C7 light-emitting material with a more accurate 12-bit color depth, along with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits (or up to 1,300 nits in HDR mode), better viewing angles, and lower power consumption. Users also get Dolby Vision support.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. In addition to the unibody metal body, the device also includes a second-generation nanotechnology material that has antibacterial and anti-UV properties. Inside, the device has a new ring-shaped vapor cooling chamber that uses multiple liquid channels to dissipate heat three times faster than conventional designs. This is mainly to keep the phone cool while shooting 4K video.

Special accessory kit designed to elevate mobile photography

The company has also implemented a dual-wing mobile antenna module that promises to increase signal reception by 58% across all bands. Additionally, the symmetrical antenna layout will reduce interference from hands, and there is also a new dedicated 5G antenna that boosts the n78 band signal by 100%.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is available for pre-order in China starting at $870 for the 12/256GB model or up to $1,060 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model. It comes in Olive Green, Black, and White. Xiaomi is also offering a $120 professional photography kit that includes a camera grip and a special phone case.
