In recent years, the investment in construction and development of economic and social infrastructure associated with the construction of new rural areas (NTM) has always been of interest to localities in the province and implemented effectively. Thanks to that, the appearance of the countryside has been increasingly renewed; the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved and enhanced.
The Agriculture sector has based on the detailed plan to implement the assigned tasks and capital plan in 2024 to complete the documents and procedures for investment preparation, construction, and settlement of completed projects on schedule, ensuring quality. To date, the total assigned investment capital plan has reached over 573 billion VND (of which the capital transferred from 2023 is 52 billion VND, the planned capital for 2024 is 521.5 billion VND). In 2024, 11 new projects and works were started; 14 items and works were completed, handed over, and put into use. Notably, the newly started, completed, handed over, and put into use projects are mainly works to urgently handle riverbank landslides and dike incidents; Repairing pumping stations, water pipeline systems from pumping stations to lakes, dams... At the same time, focusing on urging and speeding up the construction progress of projects: Au Co Road; Son Tinh drainage pumping station; Lien An natural disaster resettlement area, My Luong commune, Yen Lap district; Ngoi Gianh lake canal project; Ha Hoa embankment...
Localities in the province have flexibly combined many capital sources to invest in building new, upgrading and renovating agricultural and rural infrastructure systems. Along with that, businesses and individuals are encouraged to invest and develop commercial and service infrastructure systems, focusing on building a variety of retail models such as: retail stores, mini supermarkets, convenience stores, and self-service stores in a modern direction, meeting the increasing needs of the people.
Identifying and promoting the construction of agricultural and rural infrastructure as a key and continuous task of the program of building new rural areas and model new rural areas, in recent times, Phu Ninh district has focused many resources to invest in upgrading and building new systems of roads, schools, and stations, improving the quality of education and health care for the people, creating a premise for the development of diverse rural economic sectors, meeting the requirements of the program of building new rural areas. Thanks to that, by the end of 2024, Phu Ninh will complete the criteria of a new rural district. The whole district has 16/16 communes meeting new rural standards; 2 communes of Phu Loc and Trung Giap meeting advanced new rural standards; 11 residential areas meeting model new rural residential standards.
Comrade Nguyen Phuc Suyen - Head of the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: From 2011 to now, Phu Ninh district has mobilized a total budget to implement the New Rural Construction Program of over 2,199 billion VND, of which a large part of the budget has been used to build a synchronous and spacious agricultural and rural infrastructure system. Up to now, 100% of communes have car roads connecting to provincial and district roads; irrigation systems have been invested and upgraded, ensuring production service; about 93% of residential cultural houses have been invested in renovation, upgrading, and completing institutions, meeting the criteria for building a New Rural Construction, serving well the community living needs of the people. Schools and medical stations have been invested in synchronously and spaciously. Electricity systems, rural commercial infrastructure, information and communication, and residential housing have been implemented to ensure compliance with prescribed standards.
Along with Phu Ninh, localities in the province have also made efforts and focused on investing in building synchronous and modern agricultural and rural infrastructure. The synchronous investment in rural infrastructure has promoted socio-economic development in localities, contributing to maintaining and improving the quality of new rural criteria, accelerating the progress of completing the construction of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas. Up to now, the whole province has 6 district-level units that have achieved and completed the task of building new rural areas, 141 communes meeting new rural standards, 22 communes meeting advanced and model new rural standards, the average target of the whole province is 17.4 criteria/commune. At the same time, the province has 1,655 new rural residential areas, 140 model new rural residential areas... The implementation of new rural construction has significantly contributed to changing the face of rural areas, farmers, and improving the lives of people in rural areas. Medical, educational and cultural services are constantly being improved and enhanced to better meet the needs of the people.
