Socialization of relic restoration and embellishment work

Chung Linh communal house in Quynh Khe commune (Quynh Phu) has just been inaugurated with a total construction cost of about 3.8 billion VND, mostly from socialized sources contributed by the children of the hometown and visitors from all over the country. In 2022, the village pagoda will also be inaugurated after the restoration and embellishment process using this funding source. This shows the role and responsibility of the local community in preserving, conserving and promoting the value of the relic.

Creating trust in socialization

With a history of hundreds of years, Chung Linh communal house is a place to worship the village's tutelary god and the five great kings who have contributed to the people and the country. It still preserves 8 ancient royal decrees. In 2004, the communal house was awarded a provincial-level historical and cultural relic certificate, which is the honor and pride of the local people and a destination for tourists from near and far every time they have the opportunity to visit the land and people here. Over the course of time, although the communal house has always been preserved by the people, by 2018 it had seriously degraded, and local people contributed funds to partially repair the forbidden palace. However, after the renovation process, many items, including the 5 main worship rooms, still do not ensure safety for crowded activities.

Mr. Vu Tien Hoat, one of the elders of Chung Linh village, shared: With the common wish of the villagers to build and restore the communal house, we determined that the biggest difficulty was funding. The village leaders organized a meeting with villagers and children far from home and launched voluntary contributions, some contributed money, some contributed working days, depending on the family's ability. The most important thing in mobilizing funds to build the communal house is that all sources of income and expenditure are public and transparent so that all villagers know, and there is no "back and forth". Therefore, many children far from home who are working and working all over the country have trusted, such as Mr. Hoang Xuan Chien who sent back a donation of 1 billion VND, Mr. Hoang Xuan Hieu who donated more than 300 million VND... Those who have made great contributions to the construction of the communal house, the organizing committee all commended and acknowledged their hearts for their homeland on the occasion of the inauguration of the communal house so that everyone knows.

Local pride

In May 2023, with the permission of the authorities, the Chung Linh communal house historical and cultural relic started construction, maintaining the Dinh-shaped architecture with a total area of over 315 square meters, including items such as the main communal house, ceremonial gate, yard, surrounding wall, crescent lake...

Mr. Bui Cong Trong, head of Chung Linh village, informed: After 8 months of construction, the relic was inaugurated, in harmony with the overall religious and spiritual cultural activities of the village. Village leaders continue to propagate to local people to raise awareness of preserving and protecting the provincial historical and cultural relic that has been restored and decorated.

As one of the hometown children who actively called for socialized resources as well as financial contributions, Mr. Hoang Xuan Hieu shared: The childhood of our generation is associated with the banyan tree, the ferry, the communal house yard, in which the communal house plays a very important role in the spiritual and cultural life, not only being a place for community activities but also hosting many important events of the village. Therefore, when the communal house is degraded, we are very concerned. The inauguration of the communal house is the crystallization of the spirit of solidarity, unity, consensus, and sense of responsibility to preserve the cultural identity of the homeland. Hopefully, from these community cultural institutions, each person will be more attached to their homeland, joining hands to build their homeland to become more and more beautiful and civilized.

With the motto "The State and the people work together", the relics after being restored, embellished and put into operation increasingly promote their value, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the world to visit, worship, pray for blessings and peace, contributing to meeting the needs of religious and spiritual activities as well as promoting the land and people of each locality. The relics restored and embellished with socialized funding not only contribute to reducing the burden on the state budget but also demonstrate the responsibility of each citizen for preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values left by their ancestors. In order for socialization to be increasingly effective, localities need to promote education about heritage so that people understand, thereby joining hands to preserve and promote the value of relics, promoting the development of spiritual cultural tourism.
