The competition has the participation of 80 countries and territories and 2 countries as observers, with a total of 295 contestants. Vietnam's national team competing in the 2023 International Biology Olympiad has 3 contestants, including Nguyen Tien Loc, an 11th grader; Tran Pham Manh, a 12th grader studying at the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vu The Anh, a 12th grader, Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted.
According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, 100% of the members of the National Team participating in the 2023 International Biology Olympiad of Vietnam won prizes, of which Nguyen Tien Loc won the Silver Medal, Tran Pham Manh and Vu The Anh won the Bronze Medal.
With this result, the Vietnam National Biology Team has affirmed the quality of general education, at the same time, affirmed the correct orientation in the work of discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent students of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the efforts of students, teachers and schools.
For Vinh Phuc, Vu The Anh winning the Bronze Medal at the 2023 International Biology Olympiad is a proud result and continues the achievement of having students compete and win medals at the International Olympiad for 5 consecutive years.
In Biology alone, at the international arena, up to now, Vinh Phuc has had 1 Silver Medal, 7 Bronze Medals and 1 Certificate of Merit. Previously, in 2021, Ha Manh Duy, a student of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, brought home a Silver Medal at the International Biology Olympiad in Portugal.
It is expected that the Ministry of Education and Training will welcome and congratulate the achievements of the delegation participating in the 2023 International Biology Olympiad at Noi Bai International Airport on July 12. The provincial Department of Education and Training will also welcome and congratulate the two teachers and students Dao Quang Thang - Vu The Anh when they arrive at Noi Bai International Airport.
