Specifically, according to representatives of some businesses, the price of RON95 gasoline today may increase by more than 400 VND/liter, E5 RON92 gasoline increases by nearly 400 VND/liter. Meanwhile, diesel oil increases by about 300 VND/liter.
If the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance use the stabilization fund, gasoline prices may increase less.
According to the oil price forecast model of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI), in today's adjustment period, oil prices may increase by 0.3 - 1.9%.

Specifically, VPI forecasts that the retail price of E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to increase by VND300 (1.5%) to VND20,330/liter, RON95 gasoline will increase by VND386 (1.9%) to VND20,806/liter. Diesel prices may also increase by 1.2% to VND18,430/liter, kerosene is forecast to increase by 1.1% to VND18,718/liter and fuel oil will increase by a small 0.3% to VND16,951/kg.
If forecasts are correct, domestic gasoline prices will increase for three consecutive sessions.
In the adjustment period on March 27, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 337 VND/liter, to a maximum of 20,032 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline also increased by 337 VND/liter, reaching 20,424 VND/liter.
Diesel price increased by 324 VND/liter, not higher than 18,217 VND/liter. Kerosene price increased by 406 VND/liter, not higher than 18,524 VND/liter. Similar to the previous period, fuel oil price alone decreased by 53 VND/kg, not higher than 16,902 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 13 adjustment sessions, including 5 decreases, 5 increases and 3 opposite sessions.
On the world market at 6:00 a.m. today, April 3, WTI oil price was at 71.42 USD/barrel, up 0.32%, equivalent to an increase of 0.23 USD/barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil price was at 74.46 USD/barrel, down 0.02 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.03%.
Oil prices were mixed as traders cautiously awaited US President Donald Trump's decision on tariffs, a move that could escalate tensions in the global trade war, analysts said.
There are also growing concerns about supply, after Mr Trump threatened to impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil and raised the possibility of attacking Iran.
Official data on US crude oil inventories from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) is due to be released later on Wednesday.
