On the website of the reactionary organization Viet Tan, there has just been an argument that " Phong Chau bridge has been in the sun for 38 years, the pontoon bridge has been in the sun for 1 day " and " the army is still arrogant " (!)
The fact that Viet Tan has once again “made a record” of distorting the situation of the country in general and the image of the Vietnam People’s Army in particular does not surprise any of us. If there is any surprise, it is about the way Viet Tan disregarded all the truth surrounding the construction of a pontoon bridge to ensure immediate traffic safety to replace the collapsed Phong Chau bridge.
As is known, during the storm and flood in September, Phong Chau bridge in Phu Tho province collapsed on one side of the river, causing many people and vehicles to go missing. Efforts to overcome the consequences of the bridge collapse have been and are being carried out.

Along with that, the plan to install a temporary pontoon bridge to ensure traffic in the area was quickly proposed and implemented. The main force here is still the engineering force of the Vietnam People's Army. After surveying the necessary infrastructure conditions, the military units completed the installation of the pontoon bridge. However, due to the high flood water of the Red River, the operation to ensure traffic through the pontoon bridge was temporarily stopped when hydrological conditions allowed and traffic was switched to ferry and still undertaken by the military.
Everyone knows that the most important factor in traffic is to ensure the safety of people and vehicles, especially the river environment. That is completely normal anywhere. But for the terrorist organization Viet Tan, which specializes in spreading fabricated news and distorted arguments, all of these things suddenly become "abnormal" and cause public opinion to misunderstand the nature of the problem. And Viet Tan also uses what they consider "abnormal" to insult the image of our army sacrificing itself for the people in all circumstances, especially when there are natural disasters and floods.
It can be said that the installation of a pontoon bridge across the Red River at the collapsed Phong Chau bridge section as well as ensuring the safety of people and vehicles crossing the river has received special attention from the highest leader of the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang. At the September working conference of the Ministry of National Defense that took place recently, which included a connection to the pontoon bridge location in Tam Nong district, Phu Tho, Minister Phan Van Giang requested the Engineering Corps to base on the actual situation of the flow velocity to install a pontoon bridge under permissible conditions to serve people's travel.
Along with that, Minister Phan Van Giang directed that when the pontoon bridge cannot be rebuilt because the Red River is still flowing rapidly, the Engineering Corps should study and organize a replacement ferry, only transporting people and motorbikes across the river. Pay attention to safety, reinforce the two sides of the military ferry, and use canoes to push the ferry. Issue a notice regulating the time and number of people and vehicles allowed to use the ferry. The military forces coordinate with the police and traffic inspectors to ensure traffic order and safety, and absolute safety for the people. Develop a plan to have canoes on duty 24/7 to respond promptly when an incident occurs.
This information completely refutes the distorted and insulting arguments about the image of the Vietnam People's Army by the reactionary organization Viet Tan.
Viet Tan needs to know that those distorted arguments do not fool anyone but only show, once again, that Viet Tan exposes its nature of completely changing black to white, completely distorting information about the situation in Vietnam.
