The 7th International Conference on Contemporary Issues in Economics, Management and Business (CIEMB 2024) will be held at the National Economics University, Hanoi on October 17 and 18, 2024.
CIEMB 2024 is the largest conference in its 7th year organized annually by the National Economics University. This is a forum to create opportunities for domestic and international researchers, scientists, and managers to exchange, share information, discuss, and publish scientific research works as well as experiences in fields related to economics, management, and business.
Through the conference, domestic and international scholars from various research fields in economics, management and business have the opportunity to exchange and present their research works.
The conference provides a platform for debates on contemporary issues in the above research areas, supporting strategies to promote global sustainable growth and development. At the same time, it increases opportunities for international cooperation in scientific research between regional and international universities.
According to Professor, Dr. Pham Hong Chuong - President of National Economics University, the conference received 170 papers from scholars, researchers, policy makers and lecturers from Vietnam and many other countries, including Australia, China, France, India, Finland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Philippines, Slovakia, South Africa, Scotland, Turkey.
With conceptual and methodological rigor, about 91 papers were selected for presentation in 21 parallel sessions in the fields of accounting, finance, banking, business administration, economic development, macroeconomics, marketing, tourism, microeconomics and other fields...

The three keynote speakers selected to present at the conference are Professor Paul Burke, from the Australian National University, presenting the study “Zero-carbon Energy Opportunities in Asia-Pacific”; Dr. Dorsati Madani, World Bank in Vietnam, discussing Vietnam’s economy and prospects; Professor Peter J. Morgan, ADB Institute, presenting the study “Financial Literacy and Fintech Use in Family Businesses: Evidence from Developing Countries in Asia”.
In her presentation at the workshop, World Bank Senior Economist in Vietnam Dorsati Madani said that Vietnam's economic outlook for 2025 and 2026 remains positive with growth forecast at 6.5% for both years compared to the expected 6.1% for 2024. Meanwhile, the CPI growth rate for 2025 and 2026 is forecast to be lower than that of 2024 (4.0 and 3.5%, respectively, compared to 4.5% for 2024).
“ Vietnam's economic growth prospects come from expanding demand in markets along with continued domestic demand ,” said Dr. Dorsati Madani.
Notably, Vietnam will maintain high growth momentum in the context of low global growth trends in both 2025 and 2026.
Regarding policy recommendations, regarding fiscal policy, WB experts recommend that Vietnam should continue to focus on disbursing public investment capital, especially in the fields of infrastructure, energy, and education. Vietnam should also continue to focus on improving the investment environment, even in areas with many efforts such as telecommunications, electricity, and transportation.
