On September 5, speaking at the 78th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023) in Moscow, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi reviewed the great achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved over the past 78 years; emphasizing that Vietnam has emerged as a dynamic economy in the region, actively participating in many Free Trade Agreements, international linkage and production chains.
The Ambassador was pleased to see that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Russia is developing strongly in all areas. The two countries continue to maintain regular visits and contacts at all levels, especially at high levels, and are constantly striving to strengthen economic and trade cooperation and enhance deep and close people-to-people exchanges.
In particular, on the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to Petrograd (now Saint Petersburg, June 30, 1923 - June 30, 2023), the two countries solemnly inaugurated the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Saint Petersburg, an extremely meaningful event for bilateral relations.
At the event, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin affirmed that Vietnam has always been and will always be a good friend of the Russian Federation. Deputy Minister Galuzin assessed that Vietnam is a country with a dynamically developing economy and increasingly improving people's lives. Vietnam is also a responsible member of the international community with an increasingly strong voice not only in the region but also around the world.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin said that the potential of the Russia-Vietnam relationship is enormous, so the two countries need to coordinate closely to further promote substantive cooperation in all fields for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
Looking back at the Vietnam-Russia relationship, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi also noted the community of nearly 70,000 Vietnamese people living and working across the vast country of Russia, which has now become an important bridge of friendship in the relationship between the two countries and peoples. At the event "Vietnamese Language Festival 2023" co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, Moscow State Linguistic University (MGLU), and the Association of Vietnamese in Russia on September 7, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi said that close economic and trade cooperation between the two countries really needs people who understand Vietnamese when Vietnam has a population of 100 million and Russia has a population of 145 million.
The Ambassador emphasized that Russia has very good scholars who research Vietnam, helping Russian people understand Vietnam deeply. Therefore, the Vietnamese Language Festival in Russia is an opportunity to encourage students to learn Vietnamese, encourage and support researchers on Vietnam to continue their research projects on Vietnam, helping the two nations get closer together, as well as maintain and teach Vietnamese to children of the Vietnamese community in Russia.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi reiterated President Ho Chi Minh's words that "as long as the Vietnamese language remains, our country remains", and mentioned the fact that with more than 4,000 years of Vietnamese history, the Vietnamese language and culture have always been closely associated with the Vietnamese people.
The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam's approval of the Vietnamese Language Honor Day on September 8 is a very important event to encourage, motivate and inspire our people and ministries and sectors to continue to pay attention to teaching Vietnamese.
