Vietnam - Korea connect trade in information technology

FPT Korea is one of three enterprises awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Information and Communications within the framework of the first Vietnam - Korea Digital Forum 2024 in Seoul, Korea held on August 2.

On August 2, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) organized the first Vietnam - Korea Digital Forum 2024 in Seoul, Korea. The forum was organized to support the Vietnamese IT business community to connect with trade, share needs and seek cooperation opportunities with international partners in key markets. The conference was attended by Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho, representatives of the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology, representatives of VINASA and nearly 20 Vietnamese technology enterprises, 150 delegates from Korean associations and enterprises... The forum includes main activities: Workshops, exhibitions, signing of bilateral cooperation agreements and 1:1 networking between Vietnamese IT enterprises and international partners. Speaking at the forum, VINASA Chairman Nguyen Van Khoa hoped to turn the forum into an annual connection space between Vietnamese IT enterprises in Korea. This will be the beginning of a new, strong and explosive development cooperation period from policy, to market, training and human resource development... According to VINASA, Korea is a very potential market for Vietnamese IT enterprises. The total size of the Korean IT outsourcing market is up to more than 600 billion USD, and is expected to reach about 800 billion USD by 2028. Currently, there are more than 10 Vietnamese software enterprises opening offices and investing in Korea, such as FPT , CMC , NTQ Solutions, OmiGroup... In addition, Korea needs 740,000 IT personnel, and with the current training capacity, your country will lack 490,000 workers. Meanwhile, the capacity of Vietnamese IT engineers has been affirmed on many rankings and this is what the speakers at the forum have high expectations for the ability to cooperate in training and developing high-quality human resources suitable for the needs of this market. Within the framework of the forum, 5 memorandums of understanding (MoU) were signed. Among them, FPT IS and SK C&C are on developing technology solutions and green transformation services for global corporate customers, focusing mainly on Vietnam, Korea and Southeast Asia. Also at the forum, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in Korea: FPT Korea, NTQ Solution Korea and CMC Korea.
