On the afternoon of May 12, at the Government Headquarters, receiving Mr. Brendan Nelson, Senior Vice President of Boeing Corporation and President of Boeing Global, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Boeing to have a long-term cooperation and investment strategy and preferential policies for the Vietnamese market.

Recalling the meeting with Boeing Group leaders in May 2022 in Washington DC when attending the ASEAN-US Summit as well as discussions with Boeing leaders participating in recent US business delegations visiting Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Boeing's plan for long-term cooperation with Vietnam and opening a representative office in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always considers the United States one of its top important partners; and welcomes the United States' support for a strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous Vietnam.
Vietnam wishes to promote the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership to become increasingly substantive, stable, and in-depth on the basis of respecting each other's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions, aiming to elevate the relationship to a new height. In particular, economic and trade relations are the pillars and driving force to strongly promote the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries.
Thanking Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to meet him, Boeing Senior Vice President Brendan Nelson said that Vietnam holds an important position in the ASEAN region, is an economy that is developing rapidly, has a market of 100 million people and has signed free trade agreements with many major markets in the world. Therefore, Vietnam holds an important position in Boeing's business strategy. In the coming time, Boeing will continue to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-US economic cooperation relationship.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam's consistent policy is to maintain political, economic and social stability; develop rapidly and sustainably based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; improve the quality of market economic institutions; build an independent, self-reliant Vietnamese economy and actively integrate deeply and effectively into the international community; and continue to improve the business environment.
Vietnam is always open and ready to listen to the sharing and opinions of foreign businesses, including US businesses , to help them expand their operations.

For Boeing Corporation, Vietnam considers Boeing an important and long-term partner in the development of Vietnam's civil aviation industry; highly appreciates Boeing's flexible approach to maintaining aircraft supply agreements for Vietnamese airlines in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and instability in the international aviation industry.
According to the Prime Minister, Vietnam is a country that has gone through many years of war, is developing, and its economy is transforming. After more than 36 years of renovation, the size of Vietnam's economy has reached more than 400 billion USD; per capita income has reached more than 4,000 USD. Vietnam has signed free trade agreements with more than 60 economies in the world. Vietnam's trade turnover in 2022 will reach more than 700 billion USD. Currently, Vietnam is building airports in many provinces and cities to serve socio-economic development... These are the foundations and favorable conditions for the development of the aviation industry. Therefore, the Prime Minister suggested that Boeing have a long-term investment strategy in Vietnam, in the spirit of "win-win", "harmonious benefits, shared risks".

The Prime Minister requested Boeing to have preferential policies for the Vietnamese market; continue to support Vietnamese airlines in developing medium- and long-term fleet development plans. Boeing meets proposals on aircraft delivery deadlines according to signed contracts; improve conditions for negotiating new contracts. Boeing continues to support in the fields of aviation safety, flight operations management and airport operations management; support the development of the aviation ecosystem in Vietnam; establish more facilities and partners to supply components, technical services, warranty, and maintenance in Vietnam.
Mr. Brendan Nelson agreed with the Prime Minister's opinions and suggestions; committed to long-term investment in Vietnam, contributing to the development of Vietnam's aviation industry and aviation sector.
