VFF does not waste the brainpower of the new Technical Director

"Japanese and Vietnamese football have many similarities. They are diligence, modesty, efforts to overcome difficulties, and the will to progress. I feel lucky to take on the position of VFF Technical Director. Vietnam is a dynamic country with a developed football industry, especially youth football. I hope to contribute a small part of my strength, training the next generation of young people, helping Vietnamese football participate in the 2026 or 2030 World Cup. I will be responsible for training human resources for Vietnamese football, especially the system of young coaches, technical directors for football clubs and centers; coordinating, improving quality, updating international information as well as the most modern and advanced methods today so that Vietnamese football can have a shorter approach to international football development," Mr. Koshida Takeshi told Thanh Nien Newspaper yesterday, on the day of his introduction to the Vietnamese media.

VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu did not disclose the salary that Mr. Koshida Takeshi received, but affirmed: "VFF got Mr. Koshida Takeshi's signature through a close relationship with the President of the Japan Football Federation, Tashima Kohzo. Mr. Takeshi is one of the best football experts in Japan, with extensive experience as a technical director. One of Mr. Takeshi's tasks in the coming time is to be in charge of coach training and the youth player training system. Mr. Takeshi's tasks are considered comprehensive in the role of VFF Technical Director". VFF also emphasized that it will not waste the brainpower of its new partner.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi (63 years old) has devoted many years to Japanese football as a player (including 5 years playing for the Japanese national team since 1980), before moving to coaching since 1995. He was the head coach of the Ishikawa regional team, the Kanazawa Sakuragaoka High School team...; and held the position of Technical Director of the Zweigen Kanazawa Club (J-League) from 2006 - 2010. Mr. Takeshi has more than 30 years of experience leading the Japanese U.22 and U.18 youth teams. He has a Pro certificate from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Mr. Takeshi was trusted to participate in training national coaches for Japan at level C, B, A courses.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi said: "Training young players step by step, stage by stage will help Vietnamese football reach new heights. I and the head coach of the Vietnamese national team, Mr. Troussier, met once in April. Mr. Troussier and I were also arranged to stay next to each other in the expert area at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi). That helps us to exchange daily, related to the Vietnamese national teams."
