China-Vietnam freight transport increased sharply in the first month of the year

China Railway Group Nanning Branch said that in the first month of this year, Guangxi province exported 3,062 TEU of goods to Vietnam, an increase of 760% over the same period last year, continuing the trend of increasing transportation to promote trade between the two countries.

According to a VNA reporter in Beijing, the time it takes to transport goods from Nanning Station in China to An Vien Station in Vietnam is only about 14 hours. This is one of the major advantages in terms of time and cost of transport.

Mr. Hoang Van Han, an employee of the Nanning Branch of China Railway Logistics Center, said that since the beginning of the year, freight trains between China and Vietnam have increased the transport of many types of goods such as fiberboard, LCD screens and diesel engines, with year-on-year growth rates of 1,000%, 254% and 33% respectively. Before the Lunar New Year, the demand for Tet goods such as candy, drinks, decorative cardboard and spices was also relatively large, reaching a peak in mid-January with an average of one additional cross-border freight train per day.

In response to the large transportation demand of the China-Vietnam railway, China Railway Group Nanning Branch has connected with customers in advance to grasp the actual needs and customize transportation plans for enterprises such as allocating enough containers and balancing cargo transportation between Nanning Station and Pingxiang Station to meet the cargo transportation demand. In addition, customs agencies and departments of the two sides have increased information exchange and communication to speed up the delivery of goods and improve the efficiency of railway transportation between the two countries.

Currently, cargo ships departing from Guangxi have connected with 25 provinces and cities of China, bringing goods to many countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) such as Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, thereby improving the efficiency of trade between China and ASEAN.
