And to realize that goal, Coach Mai Duc Chung has deployed a strong squad with the striker duo Huynh Nhu and Hai Yen. In the front line, the presence of Bich Thuy and Duong Thi Van is the most notable, while Hoang Thi Loan is the leader in defense. Young players such as My Anh, Diem My, Thuy Nga, Thu Thao, Hai Linh and goalkeeper Khong Thi Hang were given the opportunity to play from the start.
With their superior strength, it was no surprise that the Vietnamese women's team took the initiative and quickly took control of the game. After only 5 minutes of the match, Hai Yen opened the score. Starting from an attack on the right wing by Bich Thuy, this player passed the ball back to the second line for Hai Yen to finish with a technical one-touch shot into the top corner, leaving the Malaysian goalkeeper helpless.
