City youth volunteer for the community

Implementing the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister and the city, the youth unions in the city have promoted the spirit of volunteering and mobilizing social resources to support the construction of houses for extremely disadvantaged households. A typical example is Mr. Pham Van Le's household (Hoa Quy ward, Ngu Hanh Son district) who has just received support of 30 million VND and 90 working days from Ngu Hanh Son District Youth Union to repair his house.

Similarly, the District Youth Union and the Thanh Khe District Youth Union have just supported Mr. Luong Van Dat's family (Thac Gian Ward) with 30 million VND and 50 working days to repair their house. The funding for this project was contributed by union members and young people in the area through fundraising from volunteer activities such as collecting waste and raising piggy banks.

During Youth Month, the City Youth Union and its branches supported the removal of 15 temporary and dilapidated houses for people, union members, youth and children in difficult circumstances. Of which, the City Youth Union supported the construction of 4 houses; 7 district and county youth unions supported the construction of 7 houses; university and college unions supported the construction of 2 houses; the armed forces and civil servants supported the construction of 2 houses. In addition to financial support, the city's youth also contributed hundreds of laborers to eliminate temporary and unstable roofs, helping people settle down and make a living.

Identifying the youth start-up and career movement as one of the key tasks, in recent times, the Chinh Gian Ward Youth Union (Thanh Khe District) has implemented many practical activities, contributing to helping young people start their own businesses and strive to become rich legitimately. Thanks to these activities, many members and local youth have boldly explored, innovated and achieved many positive results.

Since the beginning of the year, the Ward Youth Union has proactively grasped the situation and learned about the circumstances of each young person. Knowing that Le Quoc Khai (Group 22) needed to borrow capital to expand his hair salon, but was facing financial difficulties, the Ward Youth Union coordinated with the Thanh Khe District Social Policy Bank to support Khai with a loan of 50 million VND, helping him have more conditions to develop his business. “For a long time, I have cherished the dream of expanding my business scale and investing in more equipment, but due to financial difficulties, I have not been able to do so. Thanks to the support from the Ward Youth Union, I have the opportunity to borrow capital to develop my hair salon. This is truly a great source of motivation to help me overcome difficulties, rise up in life and expand my business,” Mr. Khai shared.

Meanwhile, Phuoc My Ward Youth Union (Son Tra District) actively implemented the campaign "For a peaceful school gate". In the early morning and late afternoon, union members and young people were present at 3 schools: Ngo May Primary School, Bach Yen Kindergarten and Phan Boi Chau Secondary School to support parents in picking up and dropping off their children at the right places, without encroaching on the road or sidewalk, contributing to ensuring traffic safety at the school gate area. Recently, Tran Thanh Tai, a student of grade 1/6, Ngo May Primary School, received a "Lovely Study Corner" worth 2.5 million VND from the ward Youth Union. This meaningful gift not only helps him have enough learning tools but also motivates him, making him more excited and interested in the learning process.

Secretary of Phuoc My Ward Youth Union Pham Thi Thuy Quyen said that in Youth Month 2025, the ward Youth Union will promote social security activities, focusing on taking care of the lives of people in difficult circumstances. In addition, it will organize cultural and sports exchanges, the model of "People's Market to reduce plastic waste", the contest "Youth Beauty"... Thereby, not only affirming the pioneering role of young people in the community but also contributing to creating a united, loving and sharing society.

According to Secretary of the City Youth Union Le Cong Hung, the activities of Youth Month 2025 are a practical and lively environment for each member and young person to express their patriotism, their desire to contribute, practice and mature through specific and practical actions. Thereby, contributing to strengthening solidarity, gathering young people; consolidating and improving the quality of the Youth Union and Association; and at the same time contributing to the overall development of the city. In the coming time, the City Youth Union will continue to launch and widely implement patriotic emulation campaigns and movements, arousing the spirit of initiative, creativity and desire to contribute of members and young people.
