Da Nang starts upgrading Salavane Provincial Friendship Primary School (Laos)

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse Ta Phuong Dung, Deputy Governor of Salavane Province Som-chay Un-chit; Vice Chairman of Salavane Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association of Salavane Province Khanxay Latthahau.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that Da Nang City has coordinated with Salavane Province to implement many cooperation programs, notably in education and training cooperation. Every year, Da Nang City supports two scholarships for children of members of the Salavane Province Vietnamese Association to study at Da Nang University.

In addition to training and developing quality human resources through the annual scholarship support program for about 30 officials and students of Salavane province to study at Da Nang University, Da Nang city always pays attention to supporting the construction of training facilities and schools for the province, notably Da Nang - Salavane Friendship High School, Salavane Vietnamese Language Center...

“Currently, the number of Vietnamese and Lao students in Khongsedone district, Salavane province is increasing. Da Nang City decided to support the construction and upgrading of the Association’s Friendship Primary School to Friendship Primary and Secondary School.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the project aims to contribute to the construction of school facilities, meeting the needs of learners and contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning for children of the Association as well as of Salavane province in Khongsedone district", Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized.

The Salavane Province Vietnamese Association's Friendship Primary and Secondary School project has a total construction and equipment cost of nearly 6 billion VND with a 2-storey classroom block including 5 classrooms, 2 offices and restrooms.

The project is expected to be completed and handed over to the Association for reception, management and use in 2025.
