The Central Executive Committee decided to expel from the Party Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the 13th Party Central Executive Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province.
On March 20, 2024, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the 13th Party Central Committee held a meeting to consider disciplining Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province. The Central Committee assessed that Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province, had degraded in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle. Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; implementing the Party's Regulations on disciplining Party organizations and violating Party members, the Party Central Committee decided to discipline Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan by expelling her from the Party. The Party Central Committee assigned the Politburo to direct relevant agencies to implement the procedures according to regulations. Previously, on March 18, at the 38th session, the Central Inspection Committee reviewed the report proposing disciplinary action against a number of violating Party members at the Party Committees of Vinh Phuc and Quang Ngai provinces. Accordingly, the Central Inspection Committee proposed that competent authorities consider and discipline 5 individuals, including Ms. Hoang Thuy Lan . On March 8, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency decided to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search 9 defendants, including Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, for the crime of "Receiving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code. This is part of the expanded investigation into the case of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences" committed by Nguyen Van Hau and his accomplices at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company (Phuc Son Group), Thang Long Investment, Trade and Real Estate Joint Stock Company and related units. Previously, on March 7, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1000 agreeing to the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residence and workplace of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a National Assembly Delegate of the 15th term, in accordance with the law. At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee temporarily suspended the performance of duties and powers of the National Assembly Delegate.
