Displaying 150 typical antiques and artifacts from the Ly Dynasty

On February 20 (ie January 11, Giap Thin year), at Tay Yen Tu spiritual - ecological tourist area, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang province in coordination with the Vietnam Archaeological Association, the Calligraphy Club of the Institute of Han - Nom Studies, Tay Yen Tu Service Joint Stock Company, and the People's Committee of Son Dong district organized a thematic exhibition "Typical antiques of the Ly - Tran dynasties in Bac Giang province", "Ly - Tran poetry and literature through calligraphy" and "The path of propagating Buddhism of the founders of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism". This is an activity within the framework of the Culture - Tourism Week of Bac Giang province in 2024.

The Organizing Committee displayed 60 artifacts, including typical antiques, utensils, and items made of earthenware, ceramics, porcelain, etc., bearing the style of Ly - Tran dynasties collected in the province in recent times; along with 40 images and 50 artifacts selected from 8 archaeological excavation sites conducted in recent times.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will display and perform Han-Nom calligraphy of literary works expressing the profound emotions and thoughts of the Emperor known as Zen Master - Poet Giac Hoang Dieu Ngu Tran Nhan Tong to honor the cultural beauty, an attractive art of the Vietnamese people for generations.

The Organizing Committee displays a system of some typical historical relics on the western slope of Yen Tu, located on 8 tourist routes. Reconstructing the Buddhist propagation path of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist Patriarchs, the traces of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism still remain in the steles and relics discovered through surveys and archaeological excavations at relics such as Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, the system of Yen Ma Pagodas, Hon Thap, Binh Long, Ho Bac, Dam Tri...

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang province Nguyen Si Cam emphasized that the culture of the Ly - Tran dynasties in the province is reflected in the vestiges of residential architecture, mansions, military architecture, especially religious architecture expressed through a series of relics closely related to the formation and prosperity of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect, which were built, renovated and expanded by the founders of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect to become large monasteries such as: Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Am Vai, Ho Thien, Ma Yen, Ho Bac...

Regarding intangible culture, the value of Ly - Tran cultural heritage is expressed in forms such as: political ideology, literature and art, and especially the Buddhist ideology of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect.

Through the exhibition, the aim is to widely promote and introduce to the people and tourists from all over the world the value of the province's typical and unique cultural heritages and the profound thoughts of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism. From there, it contributes to educating patriotism and national pride for today's and future generations; raising public awareness of preserving and promoting the nation's historical and cultural traditions.

At the same time, promote the potential, attract investment in tourism development, continue to build and develop the tourism brand "Returning to the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu" following the footsteps of the Buddha King; gradually promote the development of tourism in the province, affirming Bac Giang tourism as a safe, attractive, civilized, friendly and hospitable destination.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Calligraphy Club of the Han-Nom Research Institute to organize a calligraphy performance and exhibition "Ly-Tran poetry and literature through calligraphy".
