Today, the Vietnamese sports delegation only has two athletes competing. The greatest expectations are on shooter Trinh Thu Vinh when she participates in the final of the women's 25m pistol event.
The final round of the women's 25m sport pistol was a rapid fire competition, while in the rapid fire event in the qualifying round yesterday (August 2), Trinh Thu Vinh excellently ranked 2nd with 297 points after 30 bullets. Therefore, expectations for the shooter born in 2000 were very high. However, Thu Vinh could not go far, she was the 2nd athlete eliminated out of 8 athletes in the final (the competition format is a gradual elimination), ranked 7th/8.
On the green track, Nguyen Huy Hoang participated in the qualifying round of the men's 1500m freestyle. Expectations for Huy Hoang were not too high as his opponents were all very strong. Huy Hoang himself did not perform well, compared to 3 years ago his performance had declined, in the end Huy Hoang ranked 21/27 and was eliminated.

Trinh Thu Vinh competed with 39 other shooters in the qualifying round of the women's 25m sport pistol, scoring 290 points in the slow fire round and 297 points in the rapid fire round. At the end of the qualifying round yesterday (August 2), Trinh Thu Vinh ranked 4th with 587 points and won the right to enter the final round with 7 other shooters at 2:30 p.m. today (August 3).
This is an unexpected achievement because Thu Vinh is good at the women's 10m air pistol event. The female shooter born in 2000 is once again expected to bring home the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Trinh Thu Vinh will compete in the final of the 25m pistol event at the 2024 Olympics.
In swimming, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang ranked 28th out of 31 in the men's 800m freestyle qualifying round and could not make it to the final. The athlete from Quang Binh will compete in the men's 1,500m freestyle qualifying round at 4:25 p.m. today (August 3) in the hope of creating a surprise.
