Speaking at the opening of the Exhibition, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam said that the Book Exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital is a meaningful activity, aiming to highlight the significance and great historical value of the Liberation of the Capital; educate revolutionary traditions, patriotism, the strength of national solidarity, national pride and pride in the thousand-year-old civilized and heroic Capital.
“The documents, books and photos displayed at the Exhibition today will be shown in digital format using modern technology, aiming to strongly spread the great values of books not only within the Exhibition premises, but also on the Internet, bringing the Exhibition closer to readers in Hanoi in particular, across the country in general and friends around the world.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam delivered the opening speech at the Exhibition.
Through models, books and photos displayed and arranged elaborately, shown on modern digital platforms, the Exhibition will be an important highlight, an attractive reading culture space contributing to creating deep and good impressions on the great holiday of the capital Hanoi", the Deputy Minister emphasized.
The Book Exhibition is held with indoor and outdoor display spaces according to a number of key themes including: Hanoi - A thousand years of culture and heroes; Hanoi - City for peace; Hanoi - The heart of the whole country, the national political and administrative center; Displaying a number of typical books of each period that have been adapted into cinematographic works.

The highlight of the Exhibition is the outdoor area with 2 models with the theme "Viet Bac - Capital of Resistance" of Thai Nguyen University Publishing House and "Hanoi - Capital for Peace" of Hanoi Publishing House along with the display booths of publishers and distribution units such as: National Political Publishing House Truth; People's Army Publishing House; People's Police Publishing House; Literature Publishing House; Information and Communication Publishing House; Kim Dong Publishing House; Thanh Nien Publishing House; Tre Publishing House; Thai Nguyen University Publishing House; Hanoi Publishing House; Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company; Phuong Nam Cultural Joint Stock Company.

At the Exhibition, the National Library of Vietnam, publishers, book businesses and the Organizing Committee introduced to the public and readers of the Capital more than 500 rare documents and 2,850 valuable book titles and book series by domestic and foreign authors, including 205 book titles about the Capital with a thousand years of culture, about the historical milestone of the Liberation of the Capital such as: The 1000-year Thang Long Bookcase of Hanoi Publishing House; literary works that have stood the test of time such as Delicious Hanoi by Vu Bang, Luy Hoa by Nguyen Huy Tuong; Hanoi 36 streets by Thach Lam; Old stories of Hanoi by To Hoai ...
During the Exhibition, Thai Nguyen University Publishing House will bring a special cultural program of the people of Viet Bac - the Windy Capital; Hanoi Publishing House will introduce to readers a book about the thousand-year history of Thang Long - Hanoi; Information and Communication Publishing House will hold a discussion to introduce the book Summary of Digital Transformation - Strategy and Roadmap on National Digital Transformation Day (October 10)... These will be special features that provide readers and visitors with many interesting experiences, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life in the Capital to the Exhibition.
The Book Exhibition takes place from October 9-13 at the National Library of Vietnam./.
