The exhibition takes place from October 24 to 16 in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam.
The exhibition took place over three days, from October 24-26, to introduce documents and maps affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
The set of maps and documents with the theme “Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam – Historical and legal evidence” includes maps, documents, and publications displayed at the exhibition, which are part of the historical and legal evidence collected from Vietnam and from countries around the world, including China, contributing to proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. These are inseparable parts of Vietnam’s territory, which have been explored by generations of Vietnamese people, managed and protected by Vietnamese states through the ages, and have continuously and peacefully asserted sovereignty over the past 400 years in accordance with international law.
Through the contents and documentary images presented at the Exhibition, Vietnam's just stance is once again affirmed, the spirit of solidarity and sense of responsibility of the people at home and overseas Vietnamese in the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands is enhanced; helping international friends, including the Chinese people, understand the historical truth, understand the legitimate wishes and aspirations of the Vietnamese people in maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea and in the region for national development.

Quang Nam Province Department of Information and Communications said: Implementing the Resolution of the 4th Conference of the Party Central Committee (10th tenure) on Vietnam's Marine Strategy to 2020 and Directive No. 33/CT-TTg dated December 11, 2012 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the collection, appraisal, publication, use of documents, publications and rewards for individuals and organizations that have collected and donated documents related to Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands, in August 2014, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province to organize an exhibition of maps and display of documents with the theme "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" at the Provincial Cultural Center, attracting 253 delegations with nearly 8,000 visitors and learners.
Following the success of the 2014 exhibition, from 2015 to 2019, the Department of Information and Communications of the province has successfully coordinated to organize a mobile exhibition in 14 localities in Quang Nam. According to the plan, the exhibition of maps and documents with the theme "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" in 18 districts, towns and cities of the province will end in 2020. However, due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to many other objective factors, the exhibition has only been continued to be held in the remaining localities of the province today.

Since 2015, Quang Nam has been the first province in the country to organize a mobile exhibition at the district level using a set of maps and documents on Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos donated by the Ministry of Information and Communications to the province. Nui Thanh district is the 16th unit in Quang Nam province to organize the exhibition.
To date, the Ministry of Information and Communications has organized 101 map exhibitions and document displays with the theme "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" in 63 provinces and cities, 11 island locations, island districts, 23 armed forces units, 1 fisheries control unit, 5 universities and 61 high schools in 21 provinces and cities nationwide. In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communications has successfully organized 03 exhibitions abroad: Prague, Czech Republic (July 2017); Paris, France (October 2017); Moscow, Russia (November 2018).
