With the theme “Designing the Future Society for Our Lives,” EXPO 2025 is scheduled to last until October 13.

According to a VNA correspondent in Japan, after the announcement of the “Opening of EXPO Osaka-Kansai 2025” by the President of the Japan World Exhibition Association, Mr. Masakazu Tokura, senior officials of the Japanese Government, including Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Muto Yoji and Minister of Defense Gen Nakatani, along with officials representing the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE) and the Osaka government, cut the ribbon to open EXPO Osaka Kansai 2025.

The Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 venue was packed with visitors. Many lined up at the gate, eagerly awaiting the opening hour with emotions ranging from “wanting to enjoy the feeling of traveling around the world” to “creating unforgettable memories.”

Sharing with VNA reporters, 10-year-old Mase Taichi said he was very excited to visit EXPO 2025 and was thrilled to be one of the first people to enter this prestigious event.

Mase Taichi shared, “I believe that visiting EXPO will be fun and I want to see or learn things that I normally wouldn’t have the chance to. For example, today, I want to see a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 performed by 10,000 people, or the Blue Pulse performance by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF).”

EXPO 2025 has 42 “Type A” pavilions built by participating countries, including the US and China.

Along with introducing and promoting the culture and strengths of each country, technologies serving human life and health are also a highlight.

At the Japan Pavilion, major exhibits include “Mars rocks” discovered in Antarctica by a team of Japanese researchers in 2000.

The US pavilion displays a moon rock brought back by an astronaut after landing on the Moon in 1972.

The French pavilion focuses on fashion and art, displaying exhibitions of famous fashion brands.

At the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, the highlight of visitors' attention is the futuristic “human bathing machine” update.

EXPO 2025 also attracts visitors to admire advances in science and technology such as a miniature artificial heart made from IPS cells or a model of a "flying car..."

According to the plan, each participating country will be allocated a “Country Day.” This is an opportunity for each country to hold ceremonies and events that help visitors learn more about their unique cultures and traditions.

The exhibition organizers said that some countries have postponed their opening to complete preparations. The latest updates on the exhibition will be available on the official website.

The Japanese government estimates the event will generate an economic value of 2.92 trillion yen (about 20 billion USD) nationwide, based on the target of attracting 28.2 million visitors. On peak days, 220,000 people are expected to visit./.
