Implementing "Month of action for food safety" in 2025

The People's Committee of Gia Lai province has just issued a Plan to implement the Month of Action for Food Safety in 2025. The Plan aims to continue to direct and effectively implement the Plan of the Central Inter-sectoral Steering Committee on Food Safety on implementing the Month of Action for Food Safety in 2025.

The peak period of the Food Safety Action Month in Gia Lai province is held from April 15 to May 15, 2025 with the theme: "Ensuring food safety, focusing on ensuring food safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food". The communication target includes authorities at all levels; agencies participating in food safety management, socio-political organizations, organizations and individuals producing and trading food.

During peak periods, the province will establish inspection teams for food establishments and food product groups at markets, supermarkets, slaughterhouses, food collection and production facilities, and food trading establishments of agricultural, forestry and fishery origin; products of animal origin; alcohol, beer, soft drinks, processed milk, flour and starch products; food service businesses, street food; bottled drinking water, ready-to-use ice; health protection foods; inspection contents need to be focused on implementation.

For state management agencies, inspect and evaluate the implementation of Directive No. 34/CT-TTg dated December 11, 2014, Directive No. 17/CT-TTg dated April 13, 2020 of the Prime Minister on continuing to strengthen the responsibility of state management of food safety in the new situation. Implement monitoring of contamination risks for food groups according to the management responsibilities of each sector and each locality to have a basis for forecasting and recommending the food safety situation for the people. Maintain monitoring activities for food poisoning and food-borne diseases in the infectious disease surveillance system from the province to the grassroots level; prepare plans, standing forces, means, supplies, chemicals, promptly handle and intervene when food safety incidents occur according to regulations.
