Deploying court work in 2025

This morning, December 24, the People's Court of Quang Tri province held a conference to deploy work in 2025.

From October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, the case settlement work carried out by the two-level People's Court was effective and of high quality, resolving 3,524/3,597 cases, reaching a rate of 98%, of which 3,302/3,375 cases were resolved according to procedural law and 222 cases were mediated.

Although the number of cases accepted increased by 124 compared to the same period in 2023, the rate of case resolution reached and exceeded the registered target. The trial of cases, especially criminal cases and cases of public interest, was resolved quickly and promptly by the People's Courts at two levels, with the right people and crimes tried, aggravating and mitigating circumstances applied in accordance with the law, no criminals were left out, and appropriate punishments were applied. The quality of litigation in court sessions was improved in the spirit of judicial reform, creating conditions for the parties to fully exercise their rights and obligations.

The two-level People's Court sentenced the defendants to fines and confiscated many assets related to the crime with a total value of more than 65 billion VND. At the same time, it issued a decision forcing one or more parties to perform civil obligations with a total value of more than 350 billion VND.

Professional inspection work has always been strengthened. The Provincial People's Court has reviewed 2,495 judgments and decisions of the People's Courts at two levels. Considered reducing the prison sentence for 982 prisoners serving their sentences at the Provincial Police Detention Center and Nghia An Prison.

The two-level People's Court has received 45 complaints and denunciations, of which 43/45 have been resolved, reaching a rate of 95.6%, and 2 are in the process of being resolved. The resolution of complaints and denunciations has been carried out promptly, satisfactorily, and in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Complaints and the Law on Denunciations.

The People's Courts at two levels have participated in the trial of 1,203 cases of all kinds. When participating in the trial, the People's Courts have well implemented the principles of independent adjudication and compliance with the law. The People's Courts at two levels always focus on thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the resolutions and directives of the Party, policies and laws of the State on corruption prevention and control, effectively implementing judicial reform, and widely applying information technology in professional and technical activities.

The coordination with the internal affairs sector in performing tasks has brought high efficiency, especially the close coordination with the investigation agency and the People's Procuracy to actively participate, exchange, and speed up the progress of resolving key cases that have received public attention. Thereby, contributing with the internal affairs sector to ensure political security and social order and safety in the locality.

The key tasks in 2025 are: The provincial People's Courts at two levels will continue to thoroughly grasp and implement Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated June 14, 2024 of the Politburo on Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; seriously organize and implement key tasks of the court work in 2025; implement the Law on Organization of the People's Courts in 2024 according to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee; arrange and organize the apparatus of the two-level People's Courts to ensure streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency.

At the conference, the Provincial People's Court issued the Supreme People's Court's decision on appointing Mr. Tran Dinh Hung, Primary Judge of Trieu Phong District People's Court, to the position of Deputy Chief Justice of Trieu Phong District People's Court; appointing Mr. Nguyen Phuong Tien, Intermediate Judge, Deputy Chief Justice of Quang Tri Town People's Court to the position of Chief Justice of Quang Tri Town People's Court. Presenting the decision of the Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court on appointing Ms. Doan Thi Kim Thuong, Intermediate Judge, in charge of the Provincial Civil Court, to the position of Chief Justice of the Civil Court, Provincial People's Court.

On this occasion, the President awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to 1 individual; the Prime Minister awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 1 individual; the Supreme People's Court awarded the excellent emulation flag to the People's Court of Huong Hoa district and commended many units, collectives and individuals with high achievements in their work.
