After this incident, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Dinh district also requested all preschools in the area to continue to strengthen solutions to ensure safety in child care and education.
To limit similar incidents from happening, along with enhancing the responsibility of teachers, educational institutions, local authorities and organizations continue to strengthen inspection and supervision of all preschools to minimize accidents and injuries to children.
Previously, a parent reported to Tien Phong reporter about sending a 9-month-old child to Van Phuc private kindergarten, but the child was burned by boiling water in class.
Through working with the inspection team, the owner of the preschool reported that on March 18, a preschool child was burned when the facility returned the remaining 5 children late, with 2 teachers watching on the first floor. While making milk for the children, the teacher accidentally left the hot water bottle on the chair and the child crawled to pull the chair leg, causing the water bottle to fall on his neck and get burned.
When the incident occurred, the facility coordinated with the family to transfer the child to the hospital for treatment and paid all costs, and sent a teacher to take care of the family.
Also according to the Department of Education and Training of Ba Dinh district, when the child is discharged from the hospital, the parents want to take their child for scar treatment and request the preschool to write a stamped commitment about treatment at reputable medical facilities.
The preschool has admitted its shortcomings and taken responsibility to state management agencies at all levels for not reporting promptly, causing unsafe conditions for children.
