Awarding Medals to 34 senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army

(CPV) - General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, congratulated 34 senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army on receiving the Medal this time; at the same time, he emphasized that these are noble awards of the Party and State, demonstrating the attention, trust, encouragement, and recognition of the merits and achievements of senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army.


On the afternoon of December 13, in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to award medals to senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense chaired the ceremony.

Also attending the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and members of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong; Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien; members of the Central Military Commission, leaders of the General Staff, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; representatives of leaders and commanders of agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the President decided to award the Military Exploit Order and the Fatherland Protection Order to 34 senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army with outstanding achievements in the cause of building the Army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.

General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense spoke at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Minister Phan Van Giang awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Order to 10 leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet and Senior General Nguyen Tan Cuong awarded the First, Second, and Third Class Fatherland Protection Order to 24 commanding officers of agencies and units.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Military Commission, the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and officers and soldiers of the entire army, General Phan Van Giang congratulated the 34 senior officers who received the Medal this time; at the same time, he emphasized that these are noble awards of the Party and State, demonstrating the attention, trust, encouragement, and recognition of the merits and achievements of senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army, a great honor for the individual officers receiving the Medal, and also a common joy for the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and officers and soldiers of the entire army.

General Phan Van Giang awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Order to leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that today's Medal Awarding Ceremony is even more meaningful as there are only 9 days left until the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day, an opportunity to review the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the revolutionary army that has overcome all hardships and sacrifices, achieved many resounding victories, achieved brilliant achievements, and remained faithful to the oath of loyalty to the Party and devotion to the people, completing every task, overcoming every difficulty, and defeating every enemy.

Inheriting and promoting the spirit of patriotism, fighting against foreign invaders and the quintessence of the unique military art of the Vietnamese people, after 80 years of building, fighting and growing, the Vietnam People's Army has continuously developed and grown, always showing the mettle of a revolutionary army, born from the people, fighting for the people, worthy of being a special political force, an absolutely loyal and trustworthy fighting army of the Party, State and people.

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet and General Nguyen Tan Cuong awarded the First, Second and Third Class Fatherland Protection Medals to senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army.

On behalf of senior military officers receiving medals, Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Border Guard, expressed gratitude to the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense for recognizing their achievements; expressed deep gratitude to the heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroic martyrs, war invalids, families with meritorious services to the country, and generations of military officers and soldiers who have devoted and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people; at the same time, wished to make more efforts and strive, constantly train to improve political mettle, moral qualities, and working capacity to continue contributing to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation./.
