Accordingly, images of students wearing uniforms, riding motorbikes at high speed "forgetting" to wear helmets are common.

It is worth mentioning that not only students, but many parents who pick up and drop off their children do not wear helmets for themselves or their children when participating in traffic.

"There are too many fines because there are so many violations!", a soldier from Traffic Police Team No. 2, Hanoi Police Traffic Police Department on duty on Ho Tung Mau Street shared and said that last weekend, in just 1 hour of setting up the checkpoint, the Traffic Police force handled dozens of cases of students driving motorbikes and electric motorbikes without wearing helmets.

NNH, an 11th grade student at a local high school, explained: "Because I saw my friend didn't have a vehicle to go home, I drove him home but forgot to bring enough helmets.

I am very sorry for my negligence that affected the school, class and myself. I will never do it again."

Coordinate to promote propaganda

Mr. Ta Duc Giang, Deputy Chief of Office of Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee, said that ensuring traffic safety and order for traffic participants, especially students, is very important.

To minimize violations, it is necessary to raise awareness and coordination between families and schools, along with handling violations by authorities.

Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the City Traffic Safety Committee Office has proactively coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns, and schools to organize propaganda on traffic safety laws during extracurricular hours at the beginning of the week.

The lessons attracted thousands of students to participate. In addition, thousands of helmets were given to students on this occasion.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police said that since the beginning of the new school year, the unit has sent officers to schools to propagate and instruct on traffic safety regulations and skills to raise awareness among students.

In the coming time, the Traffic Police force will continue to accompany schools and the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee Office in disseminating, educating and propagating laws, aiming to gradually raise awareness of self-compliance with traffic laws among school-age children.

Adults must set an example.

Parents themselves must be good examples for their children to follow, for the health and lives of their children.

Since September 5, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police has coordinated with local police and educational institutions in the city to organize 18 extracurricular lessons and disseminate traffic safety laws to nearly 23,000 students of all levels and thousands of teachers. At the same time, through patrols and inspections, 785 cases of student violations have been detected and handled, and 427 vehicles of all types have been temporarily detained.
