Ho Chi Minh City recreates famous landmarks of Hanoi for the first time

(Dan Tri) - A series of famous old destinations of Hanoi will be recreated at Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1) to promote the image and culture of Hanoi to people and tourists on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital.
For 3 days (from August 23 to 25), the festival "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" will be opened at Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1). This is a series of activities to promote the image, culture, cuisine, and impressive craft villages of Hanoi to people and tourists in Ho Chi Minh City. Along Nguyen Hue walking street, there will be displays and projections of images, recreating typical and ancient locations of Hanoi throughout its history of development. Dong Xuan Market was recreated for the first time at Nguyen Hue walking street. This is the largest market in the old quarter with more than 2,000 stalls dating back hundreds of years from the Nguyen Dynasty. Dong Xuan Market not only takes place for trading activities but also has a strong cultural identity of Hanoi, visited by many domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Hanoi. For more than a century, Long Bien Bridge has witnessed many heroic and tragic historical events of Hanoi. The bridge is one of the typical cultural heritages promoted in Ho Chi Minh City in a series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Capital in Ho Chi Minh City. The perspective of Hanoi Flag Tower is recreated in miniature at Nguyen Hue walking street for people and tourists to visit. Hanoi Flag Tower is an ancient structure built during the reign of King Gia Long of the Nguyen Dynasty, a symbol of the military history of the capital of Vietnam. Nguyen Hue Walking Street also dedicates space to promote the images of famous and impressive destinations when coming to Hanoi such as The Huc Bridge, One Pillar Pagoda, Thang Long Bridge, etc. Along with that, a series of activities such as: Offering incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang; visiting and offering incense to the Cho Quan Hospital Prison Relic; exhibiting at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum; Hanoi delegation meeting and working with Ho Chi Minh City leaders, etc. will take place throughout and in parallel with the main program. Speaking at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, hopes that through the program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City", Ho Chi Minh City residents as well as domestic and foreign tourists will feel the deep and sincere affection of Hanoians and understand more about the beauty of culture, people and life in the thousand-year-old capital.
The program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" will take place from August 23 to 25, opening at 8:00 p.m. on August 23 at Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television and Ho Chi Minh City Television and some neighboring provinces. Notably, the series of activities on this occasion will also have the participation of many guest artists such as Hong Nhung, Tung Duong, MTV group, Dao Mac, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Vu Thang Loi, Ho Trung Dung, Dao To Loan, Dong Hung, Quach Mai Thy, model group Xuan Lan, Designer Duc Hung; Hong Kien Band - Symphony Orchestra... In addition, there will be activities to visit and give gifts to 70 families of policy beneficiaries, exemplary people with meritorious services, including soldiers who participated in the liberation of the capital and are currently living in Ho Chi Minh City.
