Ho Chi Minh City celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations

On April 13, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations (April 12, 1973 / April 12, 2023).

At the ceremony, comrade Phan Van Mai, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that, looking back over the past 50 years, the relationship between Vietnam and France has made significant strides and is developing richly and diversely in many fields such as: Politics, economy, education, people-to-people exchange... Ho Chi Minh City has always been one of the localities actively implementing many specific and practical cooperation activities to continuously consolidate and strengthen relations with France and French localities. In addition to the positive results in economic cooperation, in recent years, Ho Chi Minh City and France have also cooperated in other fields, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries... Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, Consul General of the Republic of France in Ho Chi Minh City, also said that the support of local governments has been contributing to the development of relations between the two countries, of which the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Lyon is typical... In addition, cooperation activities in education, scientific research, health, and energy between Ho Chi Minh City and France have also contributed to the development of relations between the two countries.
