The merger was carried out based on Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 230-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on adjusting the organization and staffing of the Army for the period 2025 - 2030 and the following years.

In particular, not allowing the merger to disrupt or affect the quality and progress of assigned tasks.
Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc, Director of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, on behalf of officers and soldiers, expressed his determination to maintain and enhance the glorious traditions of the two previous general departments; unite and strive to build the general department to meet the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
