On February 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Service Council held its second meeting of 2025.
According to the report on the results of the preparation for military service in 2025, as of February 3, the Military Service Councils at all levels have finalized the records and lists of military service with the receiving units. Accordingly, 4,197 orders have been issued to citizens to join the army (official orders are 4,003 citizens, reserve orders are 194).
The number of party members who received military service orders was 110. The number of citizens who joined the army with intermediate, college, and university degrees was 1,902. The number of citizens who received military service orders with health class 1 and class 2 was 3,358.
In addition, the police of districts, towns and Thu Duc City have completed the selection documents according to the provisions of the Law on Military Service and circulars and guidance documents of the Ministry of Public Security, ensuring the delivery of 987 quotas.

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Service Council organized eye surgery for 211 citizens according to the policy of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to support the cost of treating refractive eye defects for citizens performing military service and public security service.
In addition, the work of taking care of the military's rear has always been of interest to Ho Chi Minh City with many practical programs such as establishing savings books, giving gifts to citizens who have passed the military service, and supporting families of citizens who have joined the army and are facing difficulties.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, districts and Thu Duc City organized delegations to visit families of citizens preparing to join the army to visit, encourage and give gifts with a total amount of more than 26 billion VND.
In 2025, the military handover ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City will be held at the District 7 Administrative Center Square.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, assessed that the quality of military recruitment this year is better than in 2024.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, said that Ho Chi Minh City is the locality with the largest number of young people participating in military service and public security service in the country.
"This year, Ho Chi Minh City has nearly 5,000 citizens joining the army, the quality of recruitment this year is better than in 2024. I request that localities coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Command and Ho Chi Minh City Police to ensure absolute safety, avoiding disorder and insecurity during the military handover. Units receiving and training new soldiers must effectively prepare barracks and facilities to meet the requirements of training new soldiers," Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam emphasized.
