On the afternoon of December 1, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters in Hanoi, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

According to the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, at the reception, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong believed that the visit would actively contribute to promoting cooperation between the two countries to become increasingly deeper, more substantive and effective.

The head of the Communist Party of Vietnam affirmed the high regard and top priority of the Party and Vietnam for the Vietnam-China relationship.

Vietnam always supports socialist China to develop strongly and play an increasingly important role in peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also highly appreciated the very positive developments in the relationship between the two Parties and countries, especially the outstanding achievements in the 15 years since the two countries established the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

The Party leader also acknowledged the important results of the 15th meeting of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee on the same day, December 1.

He suggested that both sides, especially the foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies of the two Parties and two countries, promote their leading role in comprehensively promoting relations in all fields.

The key is to increase high-level exchanges and contacts to create strategic orientations for bilateral relations and create a favorable atmosphere for the overall relationship between the two Parties and two countries.

For his part, Mr. Wang Yi expressed his high agreement and acceptance of the General Secretary's important and strategic orientations on continuing to promote and deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two Parties and two countries.

He emphasized that under the direction and guidance of the two General Secretaries of the two Parties, the sectors and levels of the two sides will continue to promote substantive and effective cooperation in all fields.

Also on December 1, President Vo Van Thuong received Mr. Wang Yi. Earlier, at noon on December 1, Mr. Wang Yi and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang co-chaired the 15th meeting of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee.

The Chinese diplomat also had talks in the evening of the same day with Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son./.
